From the outside and inside, this looks like a large medieval church. However, it was built around 1860-70 and is now the Abbey Church for the monastery, as well as the local parish church. Some good stained glass windows in a peaceful environment, slightly offset...More

A working abbey set in beautiful countryside. The abbey is home to a group of Benedictine monks; Mass and the Offices are celebrated in the Abbey church throughout the day. There is an electronic guide to the history of the abbey and a discreet video...More

This is a living monastery, with regular services by the Benedictine monks who live there. It is a very peaceful and prayerful place to visit.

A fine old Abbey built in the 1860s. Well worth a visit. Beautiful stained glass, interesting Hardman altar, this is a working church where the daily order is observed by the resident Benedictine community.

Very interesting Abbey with some beautiful features. It is better to visit just before a service as this allows you to view details in close up..

I know the community are busy, so suggest you email them directly to see if someone is available (see their website). However, I think the Abbey church is open during the day anyway, so you can go and look around, though... More
