I have been around the world, but Piha beach is one of those places you do not want to leave. Very beautiful, surrounded with an amazing nature, it is a must see, even for a short Auckland visit.

Great beach with huge waves, perfect for hardcore surfers and people who like jumping through waves. It has a great rock (lions rock) but has black sand, which occasionally burns your feet.

Beautiful drive out of Auckland to Piha. Beautiful beach. Definitely recommended to climb Lion's Rock (not too difficult, just a bit steep). You get a gorgeous view of the shoreline from there.

Lions Rock is a popular tourist spot and must see if visiting West Auckland. You can climb Lions Rock, but children would need supervision as it is a steep climb. Piha is a popular Auckland Beach, but is well known for its rips so be...More
