A very nice park next to the Tejo river, most of the time not too busy. A lot of benches to rest on, grass to run around in and a small promenade next to the marina. There's also a small bar-restaurante and playground for children. In the autumn and spring it is very peaceful and relaxing. Overall the place is really nice. It's situated right next to Vila Franca's train station and the railroad tracks so there's a heavy train activity, and they like to sound their horns. When the tide is low you'll sometimes get a whiff of something bad from the bottom of the Tejo, but it's local to some spots and not really a concern.

This area of Vila Franca has such a huge potential and it is pity that nothing serious is done there. The river Tejo is so wide and impressive, the garden is situated in a lovely spot but it is underdeveloped.
