About
dis.cord gallery was started for the love of art, in all of its forms. Located in the heart of the waterfront district of the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, its distinctive all-black building with red doors was originally built in 1873 and has been an important fixture in the town for nearly 150 years. Known for its world-class curation, dis.cord has one of Canada's most interesting edits, including paintings from historic Canadian artists (the largest private collection of famed Nova Scotia artist, William E. deGarthe), contemporary paintings from established and emerging local artists, pieces from award-winning Nova Scotia sculptors, antique blanket boxes from Lunenburg County and vintage objects from around the world. The studio space around the back has a sweeping ceiling and plays host to live music throughout the summer. Pass by on a weekend and you’re likely to hear jazz, rock, bluegrass and folk floating out.

We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked into this gallery after seeing a piece by one of our favourite artists in the window the night before. Farley was a bit disjointed as they are moving the gallery soon but we were thrilled with our treasures! A very eclectic collection.

Has a wide range of items from modern to antique. American and Asian. Some very compelling. If you are willing to pay about $1,000 or more for something you love then this is your place. Otherwise consider it an interesting gallery.

Coolest gallery in Lunenburg.

There are many art spaces in Lunenburg, but one sits head and shoulders above the crowd: Discord Gallery. From its black and red exterior to its interior brimming with cool art and curiosities, it’s definitely one for those looking for a little slice of sophistication in Nova Scotia.

Fantastic space and beautiful creative pieces! Building itself is beautiful in of itself. Great showcase for the art. Beautiful pieces and works of art and textiles-rugs. Sweet spot in a sweet town.

I was blown away when I walked into Discord Gallery. I could have been in New York, San Francisco, London or Berlin. Casting (pardon the pun) aside the typical art you find in the province (fishing boats, buoys, fishing boats and fishing boats), Discord Gallery has a world-class curation of art that is truly exceptional. If you're a collector or just enjoy immersing yourself into art, DO NOT MISS THIS.
