A lovely bush walk from 5 minutes to 3 hours. Dog friendly. Lovely clean toilet facilities and open car park. Just a delight..

There is something visceral about the roar of water and the smell of water coming out of the bush it is heady like wine. The walk is easy and worth the trip. The falls are the highlight of a easy hike through native forest and...More

We visited the Hunua regional park and walked in the bush. Before we walked through track we brushed our shoes and sprayed it with a special chemical spray to help prevent the Kauri Dieback disease.

We've been there late afternoon and noone was there. It's a 3 minutes walk fro the car park over a bridge down to the falls. A picturesque waterfall with a beautiful area aroung. Worth a visit!

This river has unsafe levels for swimming ... volcanic geographical appeal ... plenty of parking and picnic areas ... some shaded sites.

Nice pool, nice falls, water not too cold, good for a swim. There must have been accidents in the past, so many warnings to not swim, so, we did swim and so do many others. Great little dip, sharp rocks but very doable.

It is only a 5-10min walk if that to the waterfall over the bridge and is a place where a lot of people swim. There are longer tracks going off with the best being the loop to the dam which takes about 3 hours.

There are few falls that are easy to access and yet super beautiful! Hunua is one of them. Come during the summer, and avoid coming during the winter and storm, as the flow of the water wasn't as beautiful.
