went out with the Motuihe Island Trust for a day of environmental volunteering; planting trees and seedling work in the nursery. fabulous island undergoing a wonderful renaissance.

Visited by boat for a couple of nights camping. It is a great island with excellent beaches that offer really safe swimming. There are some great walks and the opportunity to see kiwi and tuatara at night. Facilities are good for camping and plenty of...More

Great place for a short stop off especially if you have a boat. Not sure about amenities as we were on our friends launch

A lovely place to spend a camping holiday with family, sit back and enjoy the view, seafood and nature.

The beach was swarming in sea lice so couldnt really relax and enjoy ourselves. the island is beautifully kept however

easy to get to and quiet and relatively remote.A good ferry service is available from Auckland city.

Haven't been there for a while, but I have fond memories of great days spent on the beaches there. Good safe beaches.

Beautiful island. The walking tracks were a bit disappointing. They are almost impossible to follow from maps as there are so many tracks going in all directions and not many signs. The forest cover is low so you cant really get lost however. You have...More
