Newmarket was Ok it does have some nice shops but nothing out of the ordinary. There is going to be a new David Jones being built soon so might be better. There are some lovely shops in the area that a worth a visit.

Newmarket is a buzzing neighbourhood. Lots of nice restaurants and shopping galore. It’s a shame that the mall is closing for a major refurbishment but I’m sure it will be back bigger and better than ever 😊

I wouldn’t bother going to Newmarket for shopping as the mall is closed for renovations. There are a few shops still open on Broadway but not worth going especially for. I would recommend Sylvia park, St Luke’s or Queen St as alternatives

This is the best place for shopping in Auckland. 277 is a double level store with lots of different shops from chain stores to boutiques, but the rest of Newmarket has just fabulous shopping. Shoes, clothes whatever you want. Farmers has validated parking too. So...More

Five or so years ago, Newmarket was the place to shop if you wanted something lovely, and were lucky enough to have a bit of money to spend. Today, we both thought 'not any more'. Too many empty shops. Too many corner buildings with obvious...More

If you want to buy some new camping equipment or outdoor stuff then there are a few stores here (Bivouac, Kathmandu, Live Simply, etc.) all within walking distance of each other so you can check them all out and see who has the best prices....More
