Magic Broomstick Segway Tours is an absolute MUST DO while you're in Auckland. We're located in Devonport, Auckland's Historic Seaside Village only a 12 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland or 30 minutes over the bridge by car. It's FUN to experience the unique sensation of riding a Fair Dinkum, Genuine, Segway Personal Transporter as you explore this part of Auckland. We teach you the art of riding then when you're comfortable you're off on a Guided tour or short ride. Gliding to the summit of Mt. Victoria or North Head, Devonport's volcanic cones, you can checkout the Military fort's of the 1880's and enjoy the awesome views of Auckland city and the Hauraki Gulf. If you would like a shorter ride we have a "Taste" of Segway taking you to past Victorian Villas to beaches and parks. All suitable for 13years and over. If you have a 10 year old in your group you can still experience the awesome Segway as we have a FUN Family ride especially for you. Go on try something new I'ts FUN!

We had a few days in Auckland prior to joining a group tour so we booked this experience. You need to take the ferry to Devonport to join the trip. The office is located right in the ferry terminal as you arrive. The weather was very windy but the Segways were perfect for maneuvering the quaint suburb of Devonport, including the steep hills. Very fun and enjoyable way to cover a large area, and Pauline provided great background information along the way.

The day was drizzly and overcast. The lovely Magic Broomstick team and I braved the weather and had a fantastic time! Our guide was friendly, informative and knowledgeable about the area. She was able to answer questions and tell delightful anecdotes.
The riding instructions were clear and at a pace that suited.
I highly recommend this for a wonderful way to discover more about a beautiful place.
The views were breathtaking, riding was fun and the company was just brilliant.

5 of us had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon doing the taster session with Pauline. My niece, nephew and brother in law had never been on a segway before and this was the perfect way for them to get used to it and see some of the sights with a few facts about the area thrown in! We were 50/50 on whether to do it due to weather and so glad we did! Whether you’re a pro on a segway or not I thoroughly recommend taking a tour with Pauline

A rave review for Pauline of Magic Broomstick segway tours in Devonport.
We did the North Head tour and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of Pauline's commentary, insight and knowledge. We stopped frequently to discuss local history, sights and events - Pauline quickly adapted her tour to our interests - and never felt rushed or as though we were wasting time.
We travelled along the waterfront, up to North Head, explored the fort on foot as well as by segway with a brilliant view of yachts racing in the harbour and Rangitoto Island. Downhill we went to Cheltenham Beach, the Devonport Museum, Mt Cambria Park and back to the ferry terminal.
We are experienced riders but we knew we were safe under her direction.
The advertised tours are spot on in terms of destinations, highlights and time. We were on tour for two and a half hours.

This was such a fun experience and lots of information on the history of the area as we went along. Good small group of people. Loved the time you get in the park to have a blast around on the Segway. Would highly recommend this as a fun experience and worth the trip to Devonport to do it. If I was going again would take the ferry from the City to add to the experience.

Thank you for your review. Packed with historic sites we have a lot to talk about here in Devonport and the wide open spaces in our parks to put the Segway through its paces sure is the real Fun part of the tour. Yes the ferry is the way to get to us from the city with the minimum of fuss and maximum of sightseeing.

Pauline was a fabulous guide . We were worried about riding a Segway but Pauline was fantastic at showing us not just how to ride but we loved it ! Pauline clearly loves Devonport and showed us what a lovely place it is . It was also a great way to see Mount Victoria . The views were stunning . I can’t rate this tour highly enough and it was a real highlight of our holiday . Thank you Pauline !

Really lovely way to see the many sights of Devonport. Pauline the tour operator in charge was lovely. And very patient !! Teaching us how to safely use the Segway , enabling us to get the most out of the tour. Would highly recommend

It doesn't take long though before you are confident on the Segway and ready to take off and enjoy Devonport. Maybe I'm biased but I reckon Devonport has the best views of Auckland City and the Hauraki Gulf that you can get when you visit the City of Auckland. Thanks for coming and highly recommending the tour.
