Wonderful spot to see the whole of Whangarei city and environs. The memorial is well worth a visit to observe a piece of Northland history.

The bush tracks up Mount Parihaka are a great way to experience Northland's flora and fauna close up. And the view from the top over Whangarei is worth the hike! There are a number of tracks clearly outlined on the sign boards at each entrance....More

There are great walks to get to the memorial and lookout. Or you can drive up. The views are fantastic in almost a 360deg view.

* Good place to start sight seeing in Whangarei. * On a good day, lovely views of the valley, dormant volcanoes, Town basin, suburbs, etc. * Love walks? Few good options available depending on distance and time. * Panoramic photo opportunity.
