Read about this and vowed to go sometime back in the seventies if I remember rightly . Looks a bit dated now as its quite old but still a fantastic tourist atraction and super way of getting around on an island thats not really that...More

For €2 per person it is well worth taking the funicular. We made the mistake of walking up and it is a serious hike. Gave the ticket seller a €20 note and he was shall we say awfully slow at giving me the €10 note...More

Quick and somewhat easy way to travel the hill to town. Ticket offices are across the street though, and after standing in line for a while, we didn't realize this and had to get out of line to buy tickets. Buy a round trip if...More

This is an ideal way to navigate the steep hill between the harbour and the center of town. It's not overly cheap (€2,-) for a 5 minute ride and i can imagine that in summer crowds can be huge. But for us in mid-octobre it...More

Of course, you can walk the way up, but this little train makes it a lot easier for you. A single ticket cost you 2 euro.

The island is gorgeous but very busy! It's lovely to visit. We took a ferry from Sorrento, we didn't do the tour, just did it ourselves and it was half the price ! The ferry cost approx 36 euros each return compared with 80 Euros...More

2 Euro one way, tickets over the road, on the right as you get off the ferry. Terrible queues and all jammed in. If you want to go up a funicular try the one in North Devon at Linton great views and you are not...More

Yes it's either head up on the funicular and take in the beautiful views. Or make the mistake we made and walk up to the town this is a 20 minute walk up steep alleyways and steps. Safe to say we were knackered and sweaty... More
