Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited several wineries from Nelson all of which, with this exception showed some lovely clean wines. We thought each and every wine we tasted here unpleasant and either ‘chemical’ or tainted. I am a keen wine-taster, and have visited many dozens of wineries in many parts of the world, but have never been so disappointed as I was here.

Hi David, you would be the only taster out of literally hundreds of tasters to feel this way. Considering I don't use chemicals when making wine, and most of my wines have been rated 5-stars from independent professional wine writers, I question the integrity of your review.

Michal is the consummate host. Knowledgeable informative and entertaining. Always welcoming and helpful. Great Nelson wines that showcase the region. Modest tasting room but with a great view.

Michal was charming, full of passion and knowledge about all their wines.
An extremely relaxed informal tasting on the sundrenched North facing deck overlooking the vineyard.
We bought a dozen. Excellent.🤗🤗

We got there soon after opening and we’re soon joined by 4 from Vienna. The Polish guy serving us had travelled everywhere before ending up in Nelson and knew everything about the wines and their grapes.

Very nice wines. I bought a bottle of the Rimu Pinot Noir which was really excellent and probably half the price of an equivalent Otago Pinot.

What a fabulous setting for wine tasting overlooking the vineyards and Waimea inlet. Michal was a great host, describing the wine making and nuances of production. Great variety of good wines.

We drove up to this winery and wasn't sure what to expect when we saw this little shack and small parking lot. Right as we turned the corner to the front of the tasting room boy were we in awe of the view. This is a fantastic location. Simon led us through a tasting session that was very memorable and had great conversation. I'm glad we found this spot, it was very nice. The tasting and wins were a bit pricey but we found that the pinot noir was worth every penny. I highly recommend coming here if you're traveling and looking for a nice winery with an experience.

Unlike some other winery who give you free tasting of their house wines, you do pay$10 but the wines, the Informaton shared, the ambience of the whole tasting was brilliant. If you then buy some wines, as we did, then you will have the tasting fee refunded. Truly recommended for people interested in good wine without any of the pretension.

Called in at Rimu Grove whilst visiting a friend in 2014 and spent a delightful couple of hours chatting and tasting wonderful wines with the owner Patrick a knowledgeable and convivial host who is passionate about wine and wine making .The cellar door patio overlooks the vineyard towards the bay and is utterly stunning. Needless to say we left with a mixed 12 - the Bronte P N being excellent value . Went back in 2015 and spent the afternoon in the brilliant wine bar -top service and superb wines again leaving with another mixed12 . Going again in 2018 to replenish our stock just finished our last bottle of 2011 PN .Between us we will smuggle 8 or 10 bottles to enjoy back in sunny Sheffield while thinking of our wonderful trips to the Nelson area - the beer is fantastic too!

This is one of those serendipity stories. Young American travelling back to Nelson grinds farmer uprooting Apple tress. Falls in love with the place, arranges finance, works ground at weekends and finally makes wine. We loved several of them but in particular the Pinot noir

It is the most beautiful winery I have ever seen. It is located on the hills and from the tasting room you can see the bay, the hilly vineyard and gorgeous surrounding. The room has interesting decoration and you also can seat outside and enjoy the view even more. The wines are absolutely fantastic as well and the lady who served us also lovely and knowledgeable.
They also have a bar in Mapua, but give yourself a favor and drive to the winery as it worth it. 10$ for tasting refundable if you buy from them and it is cheaper than the retailer price.
Gorgeous view and great wine, what do you want more? Maybe some cheese!
