We first visited the blowholes around 3 in the afternoon and were treated to an amazing display of the power of the ocean. It really was most impressive and hard to capture the extent and power of the ocean on camera. The petrified forest was...More

The whole region was mostly petrified. The ground was orange and we had a view on the ocean at all times. I thought I was walking on the moon! The petrified rocks made it attractive. There were some big ones, middle ones and small ones....More

The Petrified Forest is a great Tourist place to take visitors, who enjoy the outdoors. A friend from Melbourne and I stayed at the Warrnambool BackPacker's for a week. She loved the Petrified Forest Adventure.

Both these attractions aren't far to walk to from the car park. The petrified forest is both eerie & interesting. The Blowhole is spectacular. .. i could've stood and watched it all day 😀 You can't take pets though.

I love this place and been here more than once in the years I come to Portland. This petrified forest on quick look seems like rocks but once you absorb it you start seeing the tree stumps of a prehistoric forest which has now been...More

The Petrified Forest is an easy 1km round trip walk to see very interesting rock formations which resemble a dead forest (which is where it gets its name). During the walk it felt like we were walking on another planet such as Mars due to...More

It’s not but it’s worth a visit - lots of fabulous scenery and the occasional rock wallaby We looked for blue whales - their spout can be seen up to 10 kms - not this trip now we have to come back 😎
