The beach is a beautiful place to overlook from one of the nearby cafes or sitting on the sand itself with a take away coffee or some fish and chips. Looking out at the islands and watching the waves roll in is a peaceful way...More

I was lucky enough to visit this beach on a beautfiul sunny day 20 August 2017. The day before raining & heavy dark clouds. The beach was alive with families, friends, surfers, dog walkers, picnics and fun!

Can be crowded in peak seasons but it is a wonderful beach, amenities nearby and also great snacks available along the boardwalk

One of the beautiful beaches to visit as a tourist in New Zealand. Lovely area, nice weather, one of the best ones to do a long walk around the beach.

We loved sitting on the beach eating a burger from Pronto across the road, especially after the summit walk. Heaps of nice shells for the kids to collect.
