- Paul FChesterfield, United Kingdom2,543 contributionsGolden sands....Clean and crystal clear waters! This beach is backed by a good size carpark, dunes and also has a cafe and what appeared to be a beach bar. Sands stretch for about a mile so plenty of space to try and get away from the crowds...why is it though that people given a large expanse all clump together!!! Glad they do, leaves me chance to walk on and enjoy a bit of space. Sea very rough when we visited so I wouldn't have gone to deepVisited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 July 2023
- reays196314 contributionsFamily Bach dayLovely sandy beach around 20 mins from Helston, don't Park in first Park on left as you drive through its apparently a rip off, we travelled a few hundred yards and parked in Maggies car park £3 all day, easy access to beach. Life guards on duty. Watersports available, couple nice bars for refreshments. Shop is a bit of a hike though. Toilets are portal loos and we're disgusting, human excrement all over the floors, however we just bought something from the big bar and could then use their toilets which were really clean and tidy. The best beach we visited in 2 weeks.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 22 July 2023
- Pinkpuma36Holbeach, United Kingdom18 contributionsOur Favourite Cornish Beach! We have been coming here twice a year for quite a few years now as there’s just no beach we would rather be on with our young children. South facing, easy access, rockpools at each end and a mile of golden sand that I’ve never seen overcrowded (admittedly we haven’t been in school holidays). There is also a bar/restaurant and a little cafe serving ice-creams etc. There are toilets and plenty of parking (£3 all day in the car park we use). We have been here many times day and evening and have never had a bad experience.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 July 2023
- kpalm201416 contributionsGreat beach - no toiletsGreat safe beach, has excellent surf at times, gets busy but they can extend the car park, make sure you pay for parking. Lifeguards on duty too. Downside is absolutely no toilets at all! Whatever Council covers here sort yourselves out and provide amenities we can’t all go for a pee in a bush!!!Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 August 2023
- Donna E67 contributionsA lovely beach to while away an afternoon. The beach was crowded but there is so much space that you could have your own area without feeling like you were in the way of anyone else. A few steps down would have been helpful as I use a walking stick to get around and the slope was a little tricky. My husband loved the opportunity to wander around and take pictures of the rocks, rockpools and surrounding area.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 August 2023

The wind and rain added to the wild nature with high white waves and dashing blue seas. Good parking and access to the beach down fairly steep steps. Once down a glorious stretch of clean golden sands to walk on. Cafe at the end was a relief!Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 November 2023

Nice beach at low tide, a good restaurant at The Welloe, but the whole experience was ruined by the car park Sydney Cove Car Park 2, run by Premier Park. No internet signal, or access to an app. We paid with coins scraped together. We accept we ran over, thanks to my daughter cutting her finger, but received a totally unreasonable bill for £60.00. This kind of predatory behaviour should be outlawed and is stressful. I accept we should pay fully for the time but make that easy for all. Felt like a fly trapped in the murky syrup of a greedy faceless monster.

The most disgusting toilet facilities we have ever encountered, main block was closed and porta loos used instead, looked like they are never serviced. Have tried contacting local council but no reply.

Not sure I want to tell the world how good this beach is as I want it all to myself ❤️ beautiful and clean has a bar a restaurant and an ice-cream parlour all owned separately … I would use the upstairs restaurant for food not the bar downstairs. There are public toilets and PLENTY of parking which gives easy access to the beach

Praa Sands is a fabulous beach with some nice facilities and until recently good parking and toilets. I have been going there for some years. This year Cornwall Council have decided that to save money they are inviting tenders for their toilets and have so closed the toilet block. In their place have arrived some Portaloos which clearly are not being maintained. In short they are disgusting and unusable.
Prior to this one of the car park owners decided to employ a car park operator who uses CCTV and will send you a PCN for the slightest infringement. Make absolutely sure that you key in the correct registration for your ticket and leave on time.
So please enjoy the beach but watch out for unscrupulous car park operators and go the loo somewhere else.

Beautiful beach but won’t be going again, the loo’s were disgusting! How could you take children there when the loo’s were full to the top and overflowing. It’s so sad that this is the situation. Come on Praa sands, sort this out!

Hi, I'm posting this on 24 May 2023. Please could someone tell me which of the several car parks by Praa Sands is the Premier Park (to avoid) one? I can see Maggie's Patch on Google Street View but also at least 2 others. There's one opposite Maggie's Patch and another called Praa Sands Beach Car Park. I can't see any called Premier! Any info / pics of the Premier one would be much appreciated. TIA!
Reading a lot of reviews from early August, it seems that the public toilets are still shut!? Does anyone know if this is still the case now, or if they are set to open soon? Does the cafe have a toilet open if not?
