Lovely farm stall with dried fruit, nuts, gifts, jams, preserves, local wines and so much more. Rust and Roses are our newest edition with lots of second hand goods from toeka to now. Restaurant with great quality food. Seating area inside with 2 fireplaces, and an beautiful tea garden at the back with a child play area to soak up the sun. Pet friendly area for diners in our front garden.

Lovely road trip stop
Sep 2021 • Friends
A lovely stop for a road trip break. All very clean and fun to shop around. Check their closing times. We got there just after 3pm and the kitchen was closing and we couldn't enjoy our cheesecake in the tea area. We got takeaway and sat outside the stall which was also pleasant . Good home made gingerbeer.

Regular Rest Stop.
Apr 2021
Our regular final pitstop on the way from Johnannesburg to Cape Town. Always find something delicious to buy and this time we sampled the apple bake - so delicious - with our cuppas! Well worth a stop, even for those in a hurry to reach their destinations. Lovely garden in which to relax, eat and quench the thirst!

Best place for a great meal
Feb 2021
If you love quirky places with an unique charm, you will love Veldskoen Padstal.
Located just over an hour drive from Cape Town and totally worth a visit (even for Sunday lunch).
The team is super friendly and food absolutely delicious... I loved their chicken salad and milkshakes are to die for.

The farm shop offer unique arty pieces as well as local produce.

Gateway stop between city stress and relaxing holiday
Nov 2020
Really nice place to stop and leave the city stress behind before road-tripping further. Nice garden out back to sit in with lots of twittering birds. Delicious menu, can highly recommend the steak salad. The shop also had a large offering of homemade treats and other regular farmstall goodies.

You must stop here!
Jan 2021 • Friends
There is a great menu to choose from and the food was fantastic. One of our party is vegan and the staff were really helpful. You can shop for bric a brac and there are a huge variety of edible treats like preserves to choose from. You'll likely spend more time here than you planned and it will be well worthwhile.

Stopped for breakfast and had a double Americano and a ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich. Good coffee, tasty toastie and friendly service!

If you miss it - turn around!
Dec 2019
You can drive by, but remember this review when you do....then, turn around and pull in there. This Road Stall seems to be like many others along the road to or from Cape Town, until you start browsing around. It's then that you need to make a decision, either to walk out...or extend your trip with an hour. Have something to eat and make their farm baked bread part of your meal. Then, go shopping. If you do this before your meal you will end up buying too much, so DON'T SHOP ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. (Just joking)
If you are part of a bus tour, threaten the drivers with mutiny if they don't want to stop here.

Incredible..!
Oct 2019
This place is really amazing. En route from Cape Town to overnight stop in Richmond we planned ahead (trip advisor reviews) to stop here for lunch. We arrived later than expected and were going to just buy some snacks or take outs and hit the road but once we saw the menu and the absolutely beautiful garden out back, we stayed for lunch and so happy that we did. The service was fast and the salads (steak and chicken) incredible - the best we've ever had. Great that they have large / small portions on offer. Bought some stuff from the shop and a bottle of wine for later that evening and hit the road so much happier for our stop.

Must visit
Oct 2019 • Friends
Do yourself a favor when you pass there and stop at this coffeeshop/restaurant/farmshop.
Lovely farm atmosphere with indoor/outdoor seating areas.
Had a huge burger and my friend the eggs benedict. Finished off with a piece of chocolate cake. Outstanding quality.
Really big portions and well worth the money and the drive there.
I shall return.
(No alcohol on the menu though)

Must Stop
Sep 2019 • Family
Our favourite farmstall! We stop over whenever we can for excellent food and coffee (better than most Cape Town coffees). You basically can't go wrong whatever you order. Service is friendly and efficient. We love sitting in the lovely garden on a warm day or close to the fireplace on a chilly winter's day. A definite must stop on your journey!
