A challenge also awaits for very qualified and experienced diver planning to explore the engine and boiler rooms.Your hosts Shane & Julia instigated the sinking of the former HMNZS Canterbury along with help from friends and family. Our dream became reality on November 3rd 2007.Dive world-class sites Pinnacles, arches, caves, walls, boulders, kelp forests, sponge gardens, abundant schooling fish, vibrantly coloured invertebrates and possible sightings of large pelagic fish. Relax in Northland Dives lodge catering specifically for divers. Our large lounge areas with wood fires in winter are the best place to relax with a drink after your day of diving and before being served up a delicious and plentiful home-cooked meal.

We stayed at Northland Dive with our Advanced Open Water course at the end of February. Julia and Shane run such a smooth, professional operation, while making you feel right at home at the same time. We felt so well looked after all round- cosy accommodation, great people, yummy food, safe and fun diving. Definitely coming back for more, and... More

Just had the best diving experience I've had in NZ. Bay of islands is a stunning location and Julia and Shane have a great operation there. The diving was lots of fun with friendly fish, colorful anemones and the impressive Canterbury wreck. Everything was well explained, the hire gear was great (kept me nice and warm) and the food was... More

Have just had an enjoyable Easter weekend in the "winterless north". Shane and Julia are laid back, welcoming hosts. The food is awesome - simple but tastes great - and perfect after a day of diving. Accommodation nicely set out with plenty of space. There is no cell phone reception or wifi there (I regard this as a good thing,... More

Shane, Julia and the team at Northland Dive are amazing. We had 8 people doing the advanced course and Tats and laura did an amazing Job instructing us and looking after all of us. The highlight was defiantly diving the Canterbury Wreck and who better to dive it with than the people to sank it.
