Trip down memory lane

Amazing how much is packed into this space Spent a couple of hours remembering when we or our parents had some of this stuff. We'll worth a visit along with the tea room.

Hidden gem
Sep 2019 • Couples
Found this place by chance. Spent couple of hours and so many childhood memories came to life. Place is tightly packed with so many gems. TV, radios, toys, games, comics, superheroes - you name it and you will find it.
There is also a lo Ely tea room attached. Had a retro coke float and cheese scone and my husband had coffee and lemon drizzle cake. Deli ious home baking a d reasonably priced.
Well worth a visit

Amazing

A hidden gem of nostalgia. Such an awesome collection of tv memorabilia from my childhood, so much I had forgotten about. A jaw dropping couple of hours full of wonderful surprises jogging so many memories. Loved it here, and a lovely pot of tea and cake in the cafe to finish a great afternoon.

After reading the awful reviews and chancing it anyway, I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. There is a lot to see and it takes a while to get round. The smell of the buildings the museum is in reminded me of an air raid shelter. The collection of radios and televisions probably contribute to this. That said, it is extraordinarily creepy. I took my teenage son as a birthday treat. We both couldn’t help feeling that at any moment someone was going to kidnap us and we would wake up screaming hours later in a bath full of ice with our livers cut out. The tea rooms were pleasant and enchanting and helped quell our fears. Our visit was rounded off with an unexpected surprise. My son is a huge Doctor Who fan and amazingly we bumped into Matt Smith as we left. Apparently his Aunt lives in the village and he had borrowed her car and tries to make it down here every time he is in the area!

A memory around every corner
Aug 2019
This museum is an absolute delight. It is a quintessentially English museum that really couldn't exist in any other country. The owner has been collecting TV and Radio memorabilia for 30 years and has been able to display it in the smallest possible space which, given its ability to seem bigger on the inside, appropriately enough has a TARDIS at one end! Every cabinet held new delights for a child of the 70s and 80s like me, but you are well catered for if you are a child of the 50s or indeed the 90s. I came out of the museum with a huge smile on my face and I defy anyone who visits not to do the same!

Morning tea

I had a good cup of coffee here, and enjoyed the fruit scone also. Wandered around the shop front looking at all the collectable things there. I didn't go into the museum, but I am sure there was lots more interesting things in there.

Lovely nostalgic find.

This lovely museum is situated in pretty village. Looking like a small building from outside it's like a tardis inside, with a shop, a cafe and a walk down memory lane for those of us old enough to remember the toys and TV programmes. Fun for all ages.

A find on Google!

We came across this place while looking for places to visit in the local area.

We thought the admission price was a bit steep.

The place is crammed full of stuff from yesteryear.

Not the best museum we've been to. It was after all in a dark dank shed that had a smell to match. So much so that I couldn't stop coughing.

I really enjoyed this place

I really enjoyed this small but interesting museum. The museum is filled with old toys, magaines, board games and all other sorts of miscellanea. It is a stroll down memory lane into all sorts of TV and movies. It is cramped but full of lots of things that brought memories back to my mind. Very interesting.

Second visit, just as good!

Partner and I made our second visit to this place and we loved it just as much as the first time round. Friendly staff, interesting exhibits and great food in the cafe.

Took us back to our childhood once again - we loved it!
