Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My mining obsessed 5 year old love his visit to these guys. Very friendly, and super keen to just have a chat and interact with kids. Great experience with some "old timers"

super awesome and unlike Pat K says they are the complete opposite of "grumpy, ill-mannered old men and a poor advertisement for tourism", they were very willing to talk and told wonderful stories. When we were about to leave one of the friendly miners we were talking to showed us some gold worth $500 which was very cool.

Wonderful tales of the 1870s from knowledgeable folks. Really fascinating to learn about miners from the day. Thanks!

We visited here on a cool, drizzly Anzac Day.

They had a lovely fire going and were only too happy to tell us about the replica miners but, and the mining in the area.

Well worth a visit

This was a bit different. Several bearded miners there to talk to you and show you around. An old miners cottage experience.

This was recommended to us by a number of people. We rocked up gave a donation and then proceeded to get a personalised tour (watch out for the possum) which was equal parts funny and educational. One of the miners then proceeded to entertain the kids for a long time with tricks and riddles. We also got to hold a REAL gold nugget. Lots of fun!

True old timer miners with a wealth of experience in the local area. They look the part and offered an authentic experience for the kids. They really enjoyed asking a million questions on how to find gold and what all of the display items were and what they were used for.
