Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The nudist beach of Filaki is accessible via the access road to Vritomartis Naturist Resort. Before entering the compound, turn left and drive along a narrow road, which sometimes does not allow oncoming traffic, to the parking lot at the taverna.

The coarse pebble beach of the narrow bay is completely managed. There are comfortable wooden sunloungers with stormproof straw umbrellas, but also narrow aluminum sunloungers with semi-transparent umbrellas. A set of umbrella with two sunloungers costs 7,50 Euro this season.

It is worthwhile to be on site as early as 9 a.m., as from 9:30 a.m., the resort guests arrive by shuttle bus and it will be crowded. In September the audience is almost always over 50. Nudity is expected, the resolute boss of the taverna sends people away who don’t want to undress.

The water is clear, water shoes are strongly recommended. The cleanliness could be better. Ashtrays on the umbrellas are not emptied, and time and again ruthless guests dispose of their cigarette butts in the gravel.

The taverna offers a shower, a single toilet, as well as a solid kitchen, and also serves chilled drinks on the berth. I didn’t like the Tarama, salads and Cretan pizza are recommended.

This beach deserves a bit more credit than it gets in most reviews but it is best to know its shortcomings. There is no sand, unless small, grey gravel is considered sand. Personally, I thought that the rocks, being so smooth & rounded, were quite pretty. The majority of the main part of this beach @ the shoreline is cement filled with rocks, probably to stop erosion. So, you have to get past this cement berm to get out into the sea. The other parts of the beach are just plain rocky (small ones, not big, like boulders) &, again, you have to make your way past this area to swim. The water is in beautiful shades of blue-green, is not particularly rough, there are caves there to explore which have cool rock cairns that fellow beachgoers have assembled in them, you can rent sunbeds, umbrellas & towels & can either walk or be driven here from the nearby Vritomartis Resort &, if you walk a little bit in either direction, you'll have more privacy. The beachside restaurant there has bathrooms & very good food, I have been told. The restaurant can get very busy.

Best naturist beach with good infrastructure used by the Vritormartis resort. where we stayed. Incredible crystal waters. We loved it. As almost all beaches in the area the stones recommend you wear a beach shoe to get into the water.

The beach was oook (too rocky) which made it difficult to enjoy the water but the view was spectacular! The personnel were horrible! Not sure if the woman who took my payment for the lounge chair is the owner or manger however, she gave me the look of disgust when she saw me (I wasn’t naked yet lol). She never lifted her head when she took my payment. The children (boy and girl) came around asking the “naturist” if they wanted drinks they walked by me never acknowledging me. A couple of the beach goers exchanged pleasantries with me and I did the same. We’re all “naturist” and everyone was respectful (no loud conversations) and everyone minded their business and enjoyed the water, the sun and the views. This was the worse experience. I stayed about and 1 1/2 and went where I was welcomed.

Lovely nudist beach looking out over the Libyan Sea. The beach which is part of Vritomartis Hotel is open to the public but nudity is expected on the beach. Good taverna for lunch and snacks. Lovely swimming in and out of coves to the immediate east of the beach. There is plenty of parking though the hotel runs a regular bus service. Alternatively, it is a pleasant 15 minute walk to/from the hotel.

While the water was beautiful, the beach itself is very rocky. Improvements could be made to this beach. adding a deck for lounge chairs so you are not stumbling over the rocks would be a plus. The restaurant and bathroom area were good and well maintained.

Lovely nudist beach (part of the Vritomartis Naturist Resort).
Few quiet people, incredible sea, stunning landscape. Great staff service.
Two beds and one umbrella for 7,5 € (all day).
Free parking, a little taverna, toilets and shower.
It's absolutely worth a visit.

Having escaped from nearby Sfakia, overrun by tourists embarking for Glika Nera, we found this naturist oasis, a well-organised beach with restaurant-bar and sunbeds. Excellent sea, green and transparent, pebble beach and cliffs, modest rates.

Very beautiful naturist beach. We must regret the privatization of this beach by shadow merchants. Almost the entire beach is covered with umbrellas. Spirit of naturism?
