The Pin National Stud -often known as the "Versailles of the Horse" - was built on the orders of Louis XIV in a verdant setting covering more than 1000 hectares (2500 acres). Here you can walk through the heart of buildings dating from the 18th century, including stables that house different breeds of horse, the saddlery of honour, and some exceptional horse-drawn carriages. Your visit continues on a route which allows you to explore stable no. 1, where you get to know more about the world of the horse and the Pin National Stud. The chateau, built at the beginning of the 18th century, houses some superb 17th century tapestries as well as animal paintings in its rooms. Come and watch the amazing shows of horses and carriages held at 3.30pm every Thursday between June and September, on Le Pin Thursdays. An artistic equestrian show also takes place in the stud riding arena, every Wednesday afternoon in April, and each weekend from 8th April to 1st October 2017 at 3.30 pm.

Had a very interesting day here. Very informative museum and interesting guided tour of the stables and the chateau. Try and go on a Thursday as the day is finished with a great show of horsemanship, and a carriage display. Well worth a visit
