- cazbattBarnsley, United Kingdom2,622 contributionsNice country parkI visited the country park on a Saturday morning to do the weekly parkrun and really enjoyed my visit. It's well kept and clean and tidy from what I saw. There is a parking charge but I didn't find it particularly excessive. The visitor centre had toilets which were perfectly acceptable.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 27 February 2024
- James CatlinSurrey, United Kingdom142 contributionsNice Walks and Scenery. Avoid the CafeBeautiful Scenery and some nice walks with Simple instructions to follow. My partner and I did a nice 6.3 mile walk and it was fantastic! Weather on our side too. Place was clean and tidy and lots of activities going on around. Parking was quite expensive but think I paid £11 for 3 hours but not too fussed as the place was well maintained. Personally would avoid the Cafe. Firstly, they are Cashless which I do not like supporting business who are pushing s Cashless society. The Cakes wasn't fresh and while my Hot Chocolate was nice it was £4.20 for a Machine Hot Chocolate with a squirt of cream on the top and about 2 marshmellows. The Coffee too is all machine. I'd come back here again but would avoid the Cafe!Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 April 2024
- Joe_JimmyPetersfield, United Kingdom10 contributionsGet off my track!Took my too boys to use the mountain bike training circuits on a Saturday morning. Park was quite busy but the weather was good so not surprised. After around 10 mins of my boys using the training area it was pointed out to me by someone using the track (turned out to be an instructor) that they shouldn’t be on it as it’s been booked out for an adult coaching session. I asked where the signs were to inform me of this and was told that when the yellow rope is across the entrance then this is the sign that it’s closed. I found the rope rolled up and left on the floor as it was too much to keep unclipping and clipping back on! Other families turned up and were turned away for the same reason. No notification of the closure was posted anywhere else to warn of this. Given that some people travel some distance to use the park, it’s very disappointing to be told that you have to clear off.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 29 August 2024

Such a shame. We used to visit often but have now been priced out by greedy parking charges. I visited yesterday for a walk in the woods and was very conscious of the time. Unfortunately due to children needing the toilet we went over 2 hours and ended up being stung with £7 parking charge (for a couple of minutes over 2 hours!!) I sadly can not return.

The park itself is lovely. However the cafe was not. It was fairly busy( not extremely) so expected a short wait for food. We ordered Soup, a baguette, and a pre cooked pasty. My father was given a hot pasty straight away so had to eat this on his own while we waited. We waited and waited then asked how long it may be after half an hour. The unfriendly staff said there was a half hr wait on food and it would be with us in a minute. Fair enough, but might be nice to be informed of this when served. We waited an HOUR and had to ask another two times. The first lady serving was very rude to my elderly father when he enquired. Still no food so I asked what appeared to be a manager who just said it will be a couple of minutes. Another 15 mins later we had our food. We watched as some soup was taken out of the bowl before being brought out and put in someone elses...assumed running low. The baguette was nothing special and not much inside it. None of it came with a salad or even a lettice leaf . Just plonked on a plate £6.50,for a baguette is very expensive, as was the other food. You wouldn't mind so much paying a bit more if it was a friendly service, not have to wait forever to be served, served nicely with a bit of effort and all together, but not for this. we will never eat here again. Another couple asked where their food was and were spoken too equally rudely with no apology.

I met some friends for a socially distance picnic. I only stayed for two and a half hours and was shocked to find it was £7 in parking charges. This is a rip off, there were huge pot holes near to where I parked in Bottom Field. This would definitely put me off visiting again.

I fear our love affair with this beautiful Hampshire scenery has been ruined by ludicrous parking charges. This a terrible rip off. I have been a walker on these hills for more than 30 years. We came to walk the hill up and down, taking a total of one hour and 10 min, only to get charged £5.00 at the barrier. Shocked and disappointed. The end of an era I'm afraid and all due to council greed..........

Just came back from QE park. I was looking forward to seeing the improvements and exercising my three dogs. The bottom carpark was full so I drove to the top carpark. Having not been since last spring I assumed the walks would have stayed the same. There was only two clear paths that I could see. One leading back down to the bottom and the other leading in to the woods. I chose the woodland one. Unfortunately we only managed a 20 minute walk before the path was too churned up with bike tracks in the mud. I decided to come home. I went to pay for the parking but the contactless was not working. Fortunately I had some change on me and found a cash machine down the bottom. I’d been the 50 minutes and was charged £2.20 for a very muddy/slippy walk. I will not be returning as there’s plenty of free and far better quality walks in the area.

Its been a while since we've been to QE Park and unfortunately it will be a long while until we return; its just too expensive for us now. The car park charges are horrendous. We were charges £7 for a 2.5 hours stay. The charges are determined using number plate recognition; I'm sure Hampshire CC have the ability to charge for time actually parked using such technology.
We pay council tax to cover the cost of looking after areas like this and shouldn't have to pay extortionate prices when parking! There is no other option however, that I know of, as the entrance to the park is literally off the main A3 road.
Shame on you Hampshire County Council.

Most expensive parking, we visit a lot of places like this across the country and nowhere else have we paid £9 for parking. There were 6 of us taking our mountain bikes so that was £54 for parking, we'll find somewhere else in future. I understand that the park needs looking after but that is excessive. Lake District and Peak District are half the price and better.

We were staying with family down in Havant & decided to take a walk with the Grandchildren to the Queen Elizabeth Country Park. The area itself was very nice plenty of areas to walk around. We had limited time there so the walk was just over an hour & it cost us £5 which I thought was a rip off. In this day & age where everyone is encouraged to keep fit & active but money is at a premium It is totally unfair to charge such an exorbitant amount to park. Please take note

We love the country park but visit less often now due to the expensive car parking fees and poor quality cafe. Great for a walk, play, bbq with friends. Laser tag is brill. Wish we'd avoided the cafe. Not homemade cakes, ice-cream was stale and machined coffee. Take a picnic and a flask!

We're local, but have not been to QECP in a year or two, and I must say it was one of the more unpleasant &, un-relaxing walks we've had in some time. Firstly so, so many cyclists whizzing by, next there is dog poo all over many of the paths & no bins anywhere.... Then when we come to leave we have to queue for twenty-five minutes to pay leave. So many nicer, quieter & cleaner places around locally.....we won't be coming back again!

Is the 1.4m height restriction for the assault course strict and managed? Or can I take my just under 1.4 m tall son?

Hi. Could anyone tell me if the Beechwood cafe is just a takeaway service at the moment or indoor seating? Many thanks
Written 2 October 2020
The seating was outdoor only a couple of weeks ago-there is an undercover section though and it is in a courtyard so a bit sheltered!

hi there! I visited this country park a few days ago, we visited at around 6pm and it was lovely and quiet, also it is an open space so it’s easy to avoid seeing people if needed. I must also recommend petersfield lake as a nice, quiet walk, it is a hidden gem in the heart of petersfield just off the motorway. I hope this helps.

Hi can i park a camper van in any of the car parks .....not to stay there just to visit for a few hours ?
Written 16 September 2017
The car parks don't have any height restrictions. So I would say yes shouldn't be an issue the park does have a website too so I would check that to. Hope this helps. Enjoy your visit.
