Opted for a weekend bush walk and chose Bells Rapids. I was a good decision. Clear skies and plenty of water rushing down the Avon. Even though it was about 10:30 is was crowded with picnickers, but there was enough parking. There's also toilet facilities...More

Spent a few hours here today, the sun was shining and everywhere looked so lovely! Definitely worth a visit. Wear good shoes as there’s lots of rocks to climb over.

After a large amount of rain, the rapids were really something wonderful to see. A tourist spot so close to Perth. Great walking tracks around the area allowed for fabulous photos to be taken. Worth a trip to see.

Climbed about the rocks and waded into the river when it was low volume. Plenty of river life to see in the water and under rocks if you stop to take a good look. Another time it was high water volume and it was mesmerizing...More

Try checking with Parks and Wildlife Service whether it is safe for you to build your own. I did not see any bbq pits there.
