Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Signed is pretty small so be careful, its easilly missed small parking right before walk. 30 min out and back walk with beautiful 360 view of peninsula.

Easy to follow paths and steps up to top of hill. Well worth the climb as you are rewarded with spectacular views of the bays around Mania and beyond.

Amazing little hike, quite steep but well made with steps. The best view for the sunset at the top!
Was a bit cloudy on this day we went, but well worth it!

In late 2018 the track received a major upgrade from the QEII National Trust who own the hill.
270 steps were added and the track surface was upgraded so it is no longer slippery in the wet. It is now easier to get to the top. The track has also been realigned in places to avoid archaeological sites of significance to local maori.
The view from the top is amazing on a good day. Love this place.

This is a trail that only takes 10 to 15 mins to the top.
When there you are rewarded with a stunning view over Mahia and surroundings.

Good walk to do. Pretty easy going until the last bit where it is a climb straight up to the top which is about 50m. The view is all worth it once you get to the top. It only took about 10-15 mins to get to top!

An excellent walk to see the views of the Mahia Peninsula. Most of the path is a decent width and condition - only the final stretch to the summit is most challenging (pretty steep) so a degree of fitness and steady feet are required.

It is a fairly short walk (say, 10 minutes) to the top, and you will be rewarded with stunning views when you get there. It's an old-school walking track, no hand rails and so on, so it may not be such a good outing for folk who are not confident on uneven ground. No shelter either, so take a coat if the weather is inclement.
