Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This church lays in the middle of Mariager. It is easy to find, because you can see it from almost every place in the village. It well maintained. And the grounds ( church cementary) is very peacefull.

This "abbey/church" is over 680 years old-- and has a rich historical and cultural background. The church was previously, also a monastery-- and the monastery can also be visited-- right next door.
If one is lucky... there may also be an "organ recital" which can be enjoyed. Many aspects of the interior as well as the exterior of the church are quite interesting!
I hope that this Review has been helpful.

So glad that we decided to stop here on the way to Aalborg! The church is very nice with carvings and murals. The grounds are well kept and the Danish cemeteries are very interesting.

This beautifull church is to big for the village. It goes back to the Middle age 12-1300.
Later it grov out to be a large cloister complexe.
But by the reformation things went back for katolicisem.
The cloister was pulled down, yet there are a building left.
Part of the church was also put down.
Bishop Stygge Krumpen is burried in the church.

Pretty. Originally the church of the monastery which no longer exists. The monastery buildings were used as magistrate office/court some years back, but not sure if they are in use now.

Mariager klosterkirke is a very nice church from the 15th century, all white outside and inside, with a lovely organ (also painted white). The cloister buildings to the side of it are no longer used as a cloister, but one can walk all around and into the garden at the back, with trees and a pleasant sitting area. A quiet place to rest from the bustle of everyday life.

This lovely monastery was establshed sometime after 1425, and was together with Maribo the only monasteries in Denmark belonging to the Birgitt order. both munks and nuns used to live here, but on separate sides of the building. The building is much smaller today than it originally was, but it is a gem of a church that is a must visit if you are in the area, regardless of your faith. The garden area is also very lovely
