Adding to the charm of the piazza is this centuries-old church with its leaning bell tower. Every building has its own charm, including this one. Respect local traditions when visiting.

This 16th-century red-brick church anchors Piazza Baldassarre Galuppi on the island of Burano. We came across the building while heading toward its most distinctive feature, a leaning bell tower. As the tower was closed, we took a closer look at the church itself. Black discolorations...More

Amongst the colourful houses in this square in Burano is this small church. Attached to it, is the leaning tower. This is a simple church and it looks rather ordinary compared to its colourful surroundings. The entrance is from the side.

When visiting, you know it is well used and that it has been so important during celebrations and disasters. It is not pretty. It is an active, loved Church It is wheelchair accessible with help.

The church is visible as well as slightly inclined, and is impressive. The whole scenery of church, waterfront, boats and colorful houses make it a beautiful to be photographed. Nice place to take a relaxing stroll on.

The initial attraction is the leaning bell tower but inside is simply but ornately decorated. Not many visitors to the island actually enter the church so it is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the calming interior.

I greatly enjoyed this church. Please respect the church and use one of the scarves to cover up, even for children. This was a nice surprise.

If your kids ever watched Ballamorey...with all the coloured houses...well you'll appreciate just how quaint and different this wee island is. Hop on and off using water taxi...stroll around and enjoy the local bakery...as we did. I reckon an hour here is enough for a...More
