We stopped along the way to take a picture of a very old bridge. After that we decided to take a walk over the bridge and found a beautiful old church. It was a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed ourselves

This village was on our planned way, so it certainly was worth the stop at Sant Joan de les Abadesses, to see this beautiful old structure.

This monastery church dating from the 11th century is now the main parish church of Sant Joan. I'd recommend attending a service, even if you are not Catholic. The sound of voices singing resonates in the ancient structure and connects one to its ancient past.
