Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

after purchasing the tickets and seeing the museum we went up an external climb to visit this cave, the guide was in German but even if we understood almost nothing as we didn't speak German we were still able to see this spectacle of nature. Really nice, the guide interacted very well with all the children. However, backpacks cannot be brought inside.

Nice parking right below the cave, very short walk uphill to the entrance. Make sure to bring a jacket as it is only 9 degrees inside the cave. Shoes get a bit dirty. Guided tour by young locals give great information on history and geology and operate the occasional light effects. Several hundred meter walk into the hill, great stalactites and stalagmites.

Wow what an experience really glad I found this on the internet before our Holiday. Really off the beaten track and don't think they see many English there. The museum about the geology of the area was great and the lovely assistant tried her hardest to translate the German for us as she gave us a personal tour. The walk up the slope to the cave is really steep but well worth the walk. The tour was in German but it didn't seem to matter as you could get the feeling behind what was being said from looking where the torch light was (afterwards when struggling to buy postcards (my pigeon German and his pigeon English weren't compatible but we got there and I learnt the order of words when asking for something) they do have a transcript of what is said in English. The outside cafe in the car park had really friendly staff and they allowed me to try and order in German. Lovely circular walk from the site and also with your very cheap and more than reasonable entrance fee you get a 2 euro discount to a museum down the road (which we will be visiting next time we are in the area)

Great visit - guides were really friendly and even gave us some warm jackets to wear - the temperature down there is as low as 8 degrees C . Despite the fact that we couldn't speak much German , they still went out of their way to make the trip interesting , handing us some really good English guide notes . Well worth the short trip to find .

very interesting! very informative, the guide and other staff are very friendly but they only speak Deutch so they will give you written guide instead of the important sights inside the cave, its perfect for children as well.

The area is a a whole family experience.... Play park for children, museum, and cave! Steep walk up hill, but worth it. Cave is 40 F year round. And 552 meters long. Lots of cool formations in cave. Tour guide a very good job of explaining cave in English. Worth the time spent there. The ruin of Kaltenburg castle is just another 500 m up the hill and also worth the extra effort to see it. Great views from there.

This was such a fascinating place to visit. It's freezing inside, so bring a jacket. The operators were kind enough to lend us one.
The whole tour is in German, although apparently they do occasionally conduct English tours (worth checking with them if you don't have a German speaker in your group to translate!)
The guide was fantastic and kindly gave me a quick overview on the way back in English, to pick up the bits I missed. Highly recommend, I've never seen anything quite like it and the story is interesting.

Tour takes an hour and really interesting walking through the caves. Entire tour is in German so we couldn't understand the story, although they gave us a 2 page handout summarising all the stops on the way. Nice to see
