A must visit!
Sep 2021
This visitor centre is a must visit in St. Abbs. The information and exhibits are clear and easy to understand and the feature on the St. Abbs lifeboat is really interesting. There is a high powered telescope for wildlife spotting and watching the local fishermen on their boats. The staff are friendly and welcoming and are happy to answer questions about the area.

I love this place. The gift shop I'd hood even though I am not a fan of marvel at all but it does have some hood stuff. The staff are warm and welcoming and the views through the telescopes are really good.

Very Very friendly staff and interesting to learn more about the wildlife in the area also. The new addition of the marvel items is good too!

Best practice visitor centre.

A great visitor centre with tourist information, gifts and great views. A friendly welcome too. Why don't more places, especially in England, have facilities like this?

Must visit.

We initially went to St Abbs because of the Marvel films and knew it was a quaint little fishing village. At the top of the hilly road is the visitors centre with some items linked to the films amongst other items that are for sale. The lady that was there named Susan went above and beyond to help us with having photos took and purchases. She also told us some stories of the locals and the film stars which was great to hear. So happy to have visited and chatted to Susan.

A hidden gem for Marvel fans

A hidden gem for Marvel fans! What a wonderful visit to St Abbs. We dropped into the visitors centre to be greeted by an amazing lady who recalled the story of the making of Avengers Endgame there and when the cast were in the village.

Everything you would expect and more... I'm mainly leaving the review for the member of staff who was a delight. The shop contains local info, postcards, souvenirs etc. But the lady behind the counter was extremely helpful especially with regards to us planning a trip round to the lighthouse. Thank you

Pop in and say hello
Jul 2021
we were staying in St Abbs for a week and it is quiet especially in the evenings when the cafes and post office close but the visitor centre is another place to call in during the day. We always like to pick up the standard souvenirs/memories such as fridge magnets, tea towels etc and the shop section is well stocked plus items to help fund the lifeboat (which is independent after the RNLI pulled funding). There are other exhibitions and items to look at such as local art and some movie related stuff from the Thor film. The lady at the desk was very helpful and chatty which pretty much represented everyone we met in the village during our stay. Make sure you pop in to broaden your knowledge of the place and perhaps contribute a little to the upkeep

Don't miss!

We stopped here to pick up a map at the start of our walk and ended up staying for a while to look at the different exhibitions and talk to the very helpful guide at the desk. We had found a standard circular walk along the coast path in a book but were so glad we forgot to bring this with us! As first-time visitors to this area we really appreciated being given so many tips in here which helped us to make the most of our visit, including detours to take to find the best spots for seeing the seabirds and taking pictures. The display by a local artist with historical photographs of the area was another highlight.

Small but informative
Jul 2020
My daughter and I visited here late July and after walking the Nature Reserve we popped in here. Having only come to St. Abbs to say we have visited filming locations from Avengers it was nice to see a little display in the visitor centre acknowledging it.

While only small the visitor centre shows the history of the area along with information on local wildlife.

Entry is free and the welcome by the people running the centre was very warm, as with anything in St. Abbs its worth doing as in reality there isn't a huge amount to do here.
