About
This park in Toronto is a haven for travelers looking to spend a fun-filled day in the great outdoors. Rent a bike at Centre Island Pier—which has fantastic views of Lake Ontario—and explore the park's many trails and paths. You can also have a picnic at Olympic Island while admiring the stunning views of the Toronto skyline. The kids will love the Centreville Amusement Park and petting zoo, too. In the evening, head to Hanlan’s Point Beach to catch one of the best sunsets in Toronto. The park can be explored on a bike tour of Toronto, which often includes other sights along the city's waterfront. – Tripadvisor

    Beautiful park with nice views
Easy access via ferry with a couple of different location choices. The islands are very walkable and relaxing. Boardwalks, paths, green spaces, bike rentals, etc. It's a very nice and calm alternative to the city. Great skyline views looking back at Toronto.

Centre Island Is Worth A Visit!
We caught the ferry to the park. I usually avoid any boat, but decided to go with the rest of my family. It was a smooth ride and I exited with steady legs. The island is beautiful and we saw a wide array of visitors from around the world as we sat & ate our sandwiches from the Subway shop on the island ( freshest bread ever!). Consider packing a lunch, etc., the cost was rather expensive. We did bring water. Our granddaughter & her friend enjoyed the beach and other activities. The restrooms had plenty of stalls. Water taxis also come to the island, but our cost for 4 people on the ferry was $17.00 round trip US dollars via credit card.

A Wonderful Escape from the City
We walked on the Harbour Front for some time. Watched a tall boat leave -they put up their sails a short distance out. We took the Pirate taxi - a private taxi to the Island. 12$ a person one way. They left immediately with just the two of us. We returned on the free ferry. The Island is a lovely way to spend a day or even a morning. We love to walk, so we walked around the Islands - beautifully landscaped lawns and flowers, water bodies with facilities for canoeing or kayaking. Renting bikes is a great way to explore the Island. Picked up some icecream cones and just enjoyed the peace. There were many families with children. But because it's such a large area, it doesn't feel crowded. We had lunch at the Carousel cafe. A lovely spot with seating on the patio overlooking the river with swans gliding by. We definitely will visit again.

    Trip highlight
I really can't recommend a trip to Toronto Island Park enough. You can get a water taxi from several locations along the Harbourfront in Toronto which will then take you across to the islands. There are a few different drop off locations to choose from too but would recommend going to Centre Island. A taxi costs around $12 per person and the journey is around 10 minutes. There are ferry options too. On the island there are several beaches, boat rentals an amusement park and also a tram ride that will take you round more of the island. Plenty of eating options too.

There is a wonderful view of the Toronto skyline from here
Central Island is the place for outdoor activities of all kinds. My partner and I came here by ferry. The walk along the coast was very comfortable, the view of the Toronto skyline from here was simply amazing. Everywhere there were trees, lawns, benches for resting and places for picnics. In one part of the island there was a harbor for private boats. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city, Central Island is the place to be.

    Really lovely place
We weren't sure what to expect, I knew I didn't want to visit centreville, and the kids saw bike rental on the map so we did that. We rented a bike and cycled to all islands, it was great. We had a lovely picnic lunch there too You can eat there, lots of options from Subway, to pizza to other similar outlets. There was also an in built BBQ you could use. Had such a lovely day here. My 8 Yr old said it was the best so far (we only landed yesterday pm but pleased he loved it lol)

    Beautiful :-)
My daughters and I weren't initially going to visit here when we arrived in Toronto. So glad we did. We arrived via the Centre Island Ferry. Explored that area then walked west and took the Hanna's Ferry back.

    Scenic
Good view. This was one of the last attractions that I visited during my stay in Toronto, and it was one of the most memorable one. The scenery was very peaceful. There were some local animals that I could watch. The view of downtown from the island was great too.

    Lovely contrast to downtown Toronto
Great to walk around on a bonus sunshine day in early October. Ferry from Toronto harbour was only $9.20 return per person, and is an enjoyable 20 minute trip. taxi boats also available at around $25 return. the East half of the island is very picturesque, with beaches, boardwalks, quirky boho housing, formal gardens a maze and enormous Monarch butterflies. Island bike hire May- sept, savvy tourists took city bikes across in October

    Day on the island's
Spent the day on Centre Island while visiting Toronto on a city break. First off, we took a water taxi there and back, very reasonable price and quicker than the ferry - although the ferry is a cheaper option. The Islands provide a great view of the Toronto skyline, and that is where many people take their obligatory picture of the CN Tower & Rogers Centre. The weather was great the day we visited and the beach area was really nice and clean. There is a small amusement park, which is aimed at younger kids, who all seemed to be having a great time. Was really nice to just around the island and there are a few options for food as well. If you are in Toronto it is well worth a visit.

Wonderful place to relax and chill away from the hassle of downtown Toronto. Great ferry system, we travelled by a private water taxi outward journey, about $12 each but used the free public ferry for the return. Amazing views of the city skyline, lovely walks and trails, plenty to see, no traffic and no pedestrian crossings !!

We loved our trip to Toronto islands. We took the ferry over to Centre Island from where we were able to hire bikes and explore the various islands. Our favourite was Ward’s Island with a lakeside boardwalk, network of pathways, variety of residential properties and wonderful views of the Toronto skyline. It was so peaceful and relaxing to be out of the city with just a 15 minute ferry ride.

Lovely little place to visit but I imagine it's really busy in the summer. We visited in April 2024 and it was quiet and most food outlets etc were closed but it's a nice walk with scenic views so worth it. Would be good for kids if you want to entertain them for a few hours in easy reach of the city.

It's a good escape for those who are bored of city life. I've been there twice, both in the daytime and at night. You should rent a bike and take a tour of the island. There are also some spots where visitors can snap the city view.

I went mid April so very little open but the walks and views are worth the ferry over. Ferry price is for a return and lovely to see the vastness of the lake from the other side of Centre island. Numerous viewing points of the Toronto skyline.

Visited 27/05/2023.
Loved visiting this Park. Absolutely huge, and so much to do. Surprises around every corner as we were not expecting the fairground rides, and mini farm. Came across a beach style area which was filled with sunbathers, and plenty of space to spread out and not feel crowded, even on busy days. We didn't go on them, but was nice to see you could hire bikes and quadricycles to see the whole island. They also have frisbee gold set up around the Park, and lots of gazebos and picnics benches, water fountains, and places for snacks, food and drinks.

You also get amazing views of Toronto Skyline as well.

It was a bright and sunny day and a perfect day to check off Toronto Island off my list
It’s a beautiful place with lush green patches that are well maintained
One can laze around on the benches and grass or go to the nude beach
Cycling and carts are made available by paying for them as it’s a huge huge island
We choose the paid cart that updates you about the scenic views and history
But beware it’s super over crowded and the wait for the ferry to reach the island from the town is tiring and so long

Visited in February and it did not disappoint.

The island was virtually deserted. So peaceful and picturesque.

Lovely place to walk around and unwind / relax.

Looking back across the lake to the main land gave a great contrast between the two places.

Happy to have gone whilst it was quiet.

The islands are BEAUTIFUL make no mistake.
The islands are also VAST and we walked the whole length of them all and back.
Our feet were in agony at the end so I highly suggest using a bike if you want to explore all the islands.

We went off-season in the winter and although it was great for pictures as not many tourist, there was an eeriness to certain areas, especially the theme park which is just abandoned.

BE AWARE: There are only a few washrooms open and no food stalls. Plan accordingly!

We got some great pictures and found the LGBTQIA+ Beach on the islands where clothes are optional.
Great to do to if you’re park of the community.

Wish I could visit in the summer when it’s bustling but I had a lot of fun visiting in the winter, seemed quite romantic.

It is possible to walk the full length of the Islands, however, a bicycle is highly recommended for getting around more quickly. This enables one to explore the 3 main islands: Ward Island with its quaint and picturesque residences, Centre Island which is the entertainment hub and Hanlon Island, known for being natural. One can also bike across the connecting bridges to some of the smaller islands. There is something for everyone - stunning iconic views of the Toronto skyline, beaches, Centreville Amusement Park, boating, picnic areas, historic lighthouse, to name a few. Also cafes and restaurants, toilets and bike rental. We rented our bikes on the mainland and took them across on the ferry. This allowed us to explore further once we returned to the mainland, before handing our bikes back.
