Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I really enjoy visiting churches and this one is in the heart of old Toronto. It's a large church with some most beautiful stained glass windows

An impressive building with a tall tower and spire. A splendid, serene interior houses beautiful stained glass windows, which tell stories of the Bible and the history of the Christian church. On the rear wall of the cathedral is the pipe organ. Definitely worth a visit. It would be best on a Sunday if you wanted to hear the organ playing during a service!

St James Anglican Cathedral dates to the 1850s.At the time it was one of the largest buildings. Today it is still a beautiful building. Worth walking by and having a look.

Landmark. This historic building is easily noticeable and well harmonized with other modern buildings in the background, including the CN tower. The roof was particularly appealing to me.

I had a lovely time wandering around the cathedral and sitting in one the pews listening to the organist in this gem of a Cathedral.
The Cathedral built in the Gothic revival Style was completed in 1853

This Gothic style cathedral has beautiful ribbed vaults and gorgeous stained glass windows allows for generous illumination of the interior space with natural light. A massive organ with 5000 pipes makes the interior grandeur. The St. James Cathedral is definitely worth to visit if you are in Toronto.

During my travels I like to visit churches, and have done so throughout the world. On my recent trip to Toronto, I had the opportunity to visit St. James Anglican Cathedral. This is an impressive house of worship. Persons interested in architecture, church history, and religion would enjoy visiting St. James.

First built in 1797, the original wooden church was replaced by the current stone version in 1853. It has looked pretty much the same since then, with its doors open to locals for worship much of the ensuing years. My Great Grandfather, who lived in St Lawrence Hall for the entirety of the depression and then some, spent his Sundays there and his wife, my gran, made oies for their suppers. Excellent acoustics, if you're lucky, you might catch a practice or a concert there...lovely architecture, a calm and tranquil spot to reflect, and the gardens next door in the park are gorgeous. Well worth a visit.

The gothic architectural detail is amazing. The stained glass windows, spires, the park and gardens are all worth a visit...or at least a beautiful photo.
