About
Canadian, and internationally acclaimed, artist Edward Spera's creations are inspired from his travels across the globe. Numerous research trips have taken him across Africa, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Southeast Asia, China, Tibet, North, South & Central America and now into the oceans of the world. His latest journeys were concentrated in Kenya/Rwanda (Aug/Sept 2013), India/Bhutan (Mar 2014) and South Dakota (June 2014). From these adventures he takes moments of time captured by camera and turns them into detailed wonders of art. By doing so, Edward hopes to convey to the viewer the incredible beauty of the creatures that share this world with us.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice shop with a variety of interesting objects for sale but the upstairs hosts his art. The details and fine brush strokes were really breathtaking. Definitely go upstairs and take a peek.

The attention to detail in Mr. Spera's work is amazing. Look closely at the pebbles, the bark of trees and the eyes of the subjects and you cannot help but be captivated. I was at this gallery last weekend and I have already started saving so I can put one of my favorites on display in my home. The hardest part will be choosing just one piece!

I have never see such beautiful art. I can only compare it to Robert Bateman. I believed they were enlarged photographs but was amazed to find out he travels the world, takes pictures of wild animals and paints the pictures on a large canvas . The detail is outstanding, you feel these animals are going to come out of the canvas. The color and texture is amazing. The pictures are very reasonably priced. This is a must see if you are visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake.

So incredibly detailed you will think they are paintings, so three-dimensional (you want to FEEL the fur on the animals) you will know they are paintings. Great compositions, based on photos the artist has taken on jaunts around the world. Paintings are reasonable priced, prints are a good deal. Talk to the artist about how he came up with various paintings. Spend a half hour -- you won't see a gallery like this anywhere else.

Edward Spera Art Gallery recently moved to 114 Queens Street, Niagara on the Lake. the new venue is fantastic. Edwards latest works are breath taking. We saw a new piece that detail a white heron in flight.

Edwards paintings are well worth purchasing. All his works have a high degree of detail that make them life like.

A must stop shop when in NOTL.

Next time you're in Niagara-on-the-Lake be sure to stop into the Edward Spera Art Gallery, it's right on the main drag. Ed is a wildlife artist who travels all over the world to take photos of the wildlife that he then paints. His attention to detail in his art is spectacular and very life-like. The gallery offers prints at very reasonable prices or original art that will only go up in value, there is something for everyone's tastes here. Many times Ed is in the Gallery painting while you are browsing, it is very interesting to talk to him and hear the story behind each painting. I found it very interesting to see a painting in the middle of being created. Enjoy your visit, I do each time I stop in.
