- RayangelHamilton Parish, Bermuda531 contributionsAwesome visit 🦅An awesome visit to see birds up close , we all had a fabulous time including my four year old GS who got to feed the birds. The place is indoors, goes on forever and has lots of free flying beautiful birds and a small museum and a fabulous gift shop where we got awesome souvenirs and of course excellent staff. 🤩Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 December 2023
- Dawn EKitchener, Canada22 contributionsAmazing experience for our little ones!We went here with our two little ones (1.5 and 3) on a weekend in January 2024. We absolutely loved it. Beautiful and unique experience. Felt very tropical and warm especially during the winter months. Loved seeing all the birds and other animals. We had so much fun and the kids loved running through the 'Bird kingdom'. We would go back again!! Unfortunately, the timing didn't work out for the bird feeding (where the birds will come and eat our of your hands) but next time we go back we will definitely make a point to do it!! Thank you for this beautiful experience!Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 January 2024
- sophia4230New York City, New York197 contributionsLovely place to visitA nice surprise, one wouldn’t think this existed right by the Niagara Falls. Great experience for both adults and young adults. My 16 yr old enjoyed it. One hour of your time here is enough to explore the place. Entry fee is very affordable.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 April 2024
- Kelly H.Madison, Wisconsin90 contributionsGreat activity for kids in Niagara FallsWe stopped by during our 3 day trip to the falls with our two 7 year old children. I would consider purchasing tickets ahead online as they are cheaper that way, and especially for a family, it can be a good discount. My kids loved seeing all the different birds and other animals up close. There is a laid out path through the facility which is great because it was not congested that way. Parking was convenient and it only took us about an hour to get through, so we had plenty of time left to explore.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 21 May 2024

Also they have a cute gift shop. Definitely plan to return again.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 July 2024

Visited Bird Kingdom, Niagara Falls with my husband on June 11/22 and it was a disappointment. There is only 1 level of birds, the first 2 levels are a waste of time, you see 2 turtles, a snake, some bats, and a spider. You have to walk in the dark through these 2 areas after climbing lots of stairs. When you reach the top level there are many birds that are flying and roaming around. You can take pictures and walk around, but it is very hot in there. At the feeding times you can line up to go into a screened off area to feed some birds. However, you are FORBIDDEN to take any pictures with your phone, in fact the woman there very rudely told me that "this is a business" and you cannot take any photos at all, you need to buy them from me because I am the only one taking pictures in here!! You have to pay to park, plus the adult admission is $24.00, so really it becomes very expensive for a visit here. Then if you decide to buy something in the store at the end, the merchandise is very costly. I would definitely give this place a pass unless you don't mind spending lots of money, climbing stairs, sweating, and being treated rudely by some of the staff. Huge disappointment for us.

Waterfall in main bird area was not on, huge disappointment as it's always been on anytime we have been there. Staff (lady) at front miserable and annoyed when we had issue with our Groupon, and was impatient. Definitely a busy day as expected for a holiday. Could use some updating in many areas. Some birds in main area look to be plucking and unhappy. Feeding the lorikeets could have been handled much smoother and efficiently - long line up and poor management happening, many unhappy people waiting with little movement in line. We ended up moving on as it was too long of a wait! Directions inside can be a little confusing for elderly people as we saw some struggling to figure out which way they were supposed to go next. There was no stamping of hands done at entry like they used to in the past for re-entry. We were told if you leave you can't re-enter without paying again. We never saw anyone for photo opportunities with the big birds upstairs? Staff were barely noticeable to talk to or ask questions about any of the birds or animals. Such a disappointment from the many times we've gone in the past.

I was surprised to see different birds this time. In the small aviary there seemed to be fewer birds. Not sure what happened to them. I hope they are okay. For example I didn't see the grackle in the small aviary. The single owl in its enclosure seemed really small. How can it fly around in there? Poor thing.
I still find the washrooms only on second floor strange. It looks like there were washrooms on the ground floor beside the cafe. But with the cafe closed the ground floor washrooms seem to be closed too.
The birds in the main aviary were more active this time when we visited. The Silvery Cheeked hornbill was calling out. But it's the only one of its species here. I wonder if it's lonely. The scarlet ibis were the bird that I could see had the most numbers. The great argus pheasant was moving around this time. Last year it stood rock still & didn't move at all when we saw it. The Boat billed heron is still very territorial & chases away any ibis when they come near.
I do wish they would expand the spaces for the birds. Despite all this I still like to come here & see the birds. I bought another t-shirt for hubby & though expensive this is the only place I've seen the shirts with animal art on it.

Great place to visit for families and couples. You can see various species of birds, walking amongst them. It's fascinating to watch them when they're being fed. The bats were really neat to watch. The tortoise was walking around, and we got to pet it. The very colourful smaller parrot was humourous. It's in love with one of the young male staff, and constantly must be near him. If he leaves the area, it cries to be with him. He's a bit of a cheeky little parrot.

I was really disappointed to find that the world's biggest indoor aviary doesn't have any toucans (they only has toucanets (2 miniature toucans). In general, they have a few colourful birds (macaws and parrots), but most of the birds are small or pheasants.
Although the main aviary is pretty and makes you feel like you're in a tropical rainforest, I wish they gave the caged birds more space. Most of them have no where to fly and have only 1 branch to rest on. I was surprised to find a blue jay there as they are local. It too had no space to fly and was really fat.
A suggestion for the main aviary would be to put the legend of birds to look for at the entrance instead of almost the end.

This place is a delight for bird lovers. The indoor aviaries are just extraordinary. I enjoyed the small bird aviary which has charming birds, many of whom are in pairs and busy building nests. The main aviary is spacious with beautiful, free-roaming exotic birds and a man-made waterfall. Some of these birds are quite loud and are not afraid of humans. This main aviary is where they also offer lorikeet feedings for a small additional fee. Be aware that the lorikeets might choose to perch on your head, shoulders, or arms.
Bird Kingdom also has non-avian creatures such as turtles, Egyptian fruit bats, toads, snakes, and an adorable axolotl.
My only critique is that this facility could use some updating in certain areas. Also they could benefit from more staff to better monitor for unruly unattended children who I witnessed throwing rocks and dirt at the birds.
Otherwise I highly recommend Bird Kingdom. It is very conveniently located near the Rainbow bridge for those travelers visiting Niagara Falls. There is a discount on tickets if you purchase online.

Located right next to the river, parking is all over! There's the onsite spots, or those dudes who try wave you in when you drive by. Lastly there's the casino, park there play some slots then stroll down to see the birds.
The bird Kingdom is amazing!! Cheaper tickets can be found on Groupon, and I think there are actual coupons out there.
There is a vast array of birds to see, as well as turtles, frogs, bats and... spiders! Yeah Tarantula!
The big room full of birds is... well wow is the word. Waterfalls and endless paths. I will say the bird feeding is incredibly slow. I stood in line and when no one left during five minutes, five actual minutes I bounced.
Overall good bang for your buck, plus free WiFi!
Oh, be weary about your phone pinging in the US! Yeah! You will get billed for it! Be careful, call your phone company after.

We went for our first time to Bird Kingdom. We enjoyed the experience. The aviaries offered a lot of space for the birds and it was well kept. The only issue we experienced was the bearded dragon there does not have the proper lighting. It has a red light in its enclosure which is actually harmful to a beardie. It is a common mistake that many people make, but a bearded dragon needs a UVB light (linear tube) and a proper basking lamp that is a white light bulb that gets the temp up to around 95 degrees for basking. They need these lights for proper digestion and to properly take in calcium to avoid metabolic bone disorder. The lights should be completely turned off at night to provide a 12 hour sleep time for the beardie.
It is wonderful to see reptiles being taken in and given a wonderful place but I hope when we come back these improvements will be made for the beardie! Other reptiles can have the red and green lights but not bearded dragons!

Hi 327savannahl! Thanks for your kind words about the aviaries. We are happy to report that the bearded dragon has both a red light (heat) and UVB light, providing both the required temperature and UV exposure. The basking temperature is checked daily and the lights adjusted to keep temperature and UV at the proper level. And both are on a timer to turn off at night and not disturb the bearded dragon's sleep. It's great that you care about good animal care. We do too, and hopefully this information is helpful. We look forward to your next visit!

You have to like birds and be OK surrounded by them. The larger birds like the parrots, etc have staff with them to explain and show off their talents. From there you go upstairs to an enclosed area where a myriad of small birds fly around you as they feed and go about their lives. Further along, in the last area, there are many more exotic and tropical birds, also loose, to wander amongst. And of course, a bird oriented souvenir shop.

We bought the tickets on Groupon which was at a bit of a discount. Still expensive even with that. They asked us if you wanted to buy a ticket to feed the birds which are kids of course wanted to do that. That was an extra $5 each with a time frame to feed them. But by the time you got up there they didn't tell you where it was we only had a half an hour left and there was about eight other people in front of us. That was a bit disappointing as well as when we got in there to feed them it was a little tiny cup with liquid in to feed the birds. It was actually less than a shot glass... We live in the Niagara region they should even give a discount for living there.
Kids did love the birds - but no show or anything.
Way overrated wouldn't spend the money to go back.....

Would this be good for someone with mobility issues? My husband has difficulty walking distances/stairs due to arthritis. Thanks!
Written 4 October 2018
There is a lot of walking, and you will want to take your time to see all of the exhibits. You can go as slow as you like, but if he has difficulty walking for 1-2 hours, take a wheelchair and enjoy yourselves!

Do you have to buy food if you want to feed the birds?
Written 12 August 2018
No you do not have to buy food. The only place you are allowed to feed the birds is in the Lorikeet feeding area, where the food (nectar) is offered in a small cup for free.

Do we need a Canadian visa? Or passport is enough?
Written 10 May 2018
Bird Kingdom is in Canada. If you are a US citizen, your US passport should be enough to cross the border into Canada. If you are a citizen of another country, check to see if you'd need a visa to enter Canada. (At Bird Kingdom, they will not ask you for your passport or visa; you will be asked when you try to enter Canada)

Are there any opportunities to feed the birds?
Written 1 May 2018
There’s one section with the Lorikeets where you can hold a small cup of liquid that the birds will drink. The Lorikeets are in the larger of the two aviaries. That was the only place I saw where you can feed the birds. (Staff will supply the cup of liquid; you won’t have to buy anything) Also, the staff member will take your photo which you can purchase later.
