The building does not look too impressive from the outside. But... the inside "hides" a really well-preserved Renaissance theater. It's worth to drop in and "meet" some history...

The first free standing, purpose built theatre in Europe. Built in the 1500s it is a really gem. Beautifully preserved and lovely to see!

This is an incredible theater. I only wish I could have seen a play put on in this magnificent space. You must visit this theater!

One if the two must see sights here, other than strolling the town. The theatre is unique in its history. If you've seen the one in Vice sa than this is a secondary example. Worth a look if you're in the area.

if you happen to visit Sabbioneta, do not miss the visit of this little teathre...it resembles the bigger olimpic teathre in Vicenza , but it is very particular, being built and used only for the duke Vespasiano Gonzaga...
