We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good seating, most recent films, reasonably priced tickets. 4 showings a day and family friendly with plenty of parking spaces.

$10 movie entry. Where else can you enjoy a movie at this price? We saw Bohemian Rhapsody, film was great, seats were comfortable theatre has air conditioning ( heating when it’s cold) and it’s beside East end cafe for a coffee and cake if you time it right.

giant screen and comfy seats with plenty of leg room. Not only is this a beautiful building with an amazing Gaiety Theatre lead light above the entrance but it is beautifully restored. Eat your heart out Aucklanders nothing up there compares.

While traipsing around New Zealand, we decided to stop in here for a rest and a movie and boy were we impressed! The seats were comfy, the aisles wide and the sound system was incredible! The proprietor was very nice and the concessions were fresh and tasty. All-in-all a great experience! I would highly recommend it to anyone. The place is huge and they play all recent movies, so I would put this on the top of my list as a "must-see" when visiting the quaint coastal town of Wairoa.

This is an old theatre house that was converted to cine quite a few years ago. Its reported to be the largest screen on the East coast, it is quite big. The sound system is OK, the sears are comfy and i don't think I've ever had more leg room in a cinema, we went to the new Pork
Pie movie, great to see a Kiwi movie in an old Kiwi theatre for not a lot of money.

Great to have restored back to its former glory. It has the most incredible sound system of any theatre and is a welcome addition of things to do in Wairoa. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is always plenty of popcorn for the movies. It is equally impressive when holding music and dance productions, the decor, lights and advanced sound system putting it in a class of its own.

I am so very glad that we had planned our visit to Wairoa around the Long River Swing performance at the Gaiety Theatre last Saturday! The musicians ( David Maquette & his Trio and Twisting' the Swing) were all outstanding and we loved every second of the whole evening and from the standing ovation received, so did everyone else.
If Wairoa puts on another event like this again, I highly recommend that you make a booking as it will most certainly sell out quickly! Hopefully there will be another one next year! We will certainly be there!!
