Brief visit
Jul 2018 • Family
Calm and nice environment, not too many people around and a good view of the valley. Scarce of service and few shops nearby.

Perfect for Families
May 2018 • Family
I went to the mirador in the off-season so there were not a lot of tourists. You can enjoy coffee, ice-cream and grilled bananas filled with either cheese or peanut butter. The view is spectacular, especially at sunset. Within walking distance is the Chocolate Museum, a Vivero and if you walk down the stairs you can hire a boat to take you out on the river.

Lively on Sunday evening
Nov 2017 • Solo
I went here on Sunday evening and the experience was festive. Lots of families and couples were there just milling around and getting snacks from the street vendors. The views are good. I then walked down to the port and got a boat ride on the river. The prices are flat rate - 30 soles for a half hour and 60 for an hour. So I just paid 30 soles for a private boat ride for thirty minutes. I assume the area would be more deserted during the week so probably should go on a weekend.

Gorgeous View

If you're in Moyobamba, take the time to visit the Mirador. There are shops and restaurants close by...along with with the choco museo!

Food, exercise and sight seeing

Fun, on sunday noon they set up a food court in the street. Delicious and comfortable prices. Then one can go down the stairs to the river. Where the kids can play and go on the river ride

Best view over the Mayo river and the very nice bar quarter of the city. A must do!
This part of the city is very special. Many bars, street arts and very beautiful plantations.

So glad I found this.

Absolutely stunning view by any standard, serenaded by birdsong. Not to be missed, and even a month later and far away I can still relish the pleasure of that wonderful vista, over the river valley, the pastures and the trees to the far mountains. Definitely make time to do this, but be prepared to be rooted to the spot for half an hour or so, at least!

Great view just lots of steps
Sep 2016 • Couples
Definitely worth the almost 500 steps down !! Lovely peaceful panorama of the river. Cafe for drinks and food. Hard walk back if you go on a hot day ! Do not attempt if you have walking problems.

A good walk down many stairs
Jun 2016 • Family
This hike down many stairs takes you to the Mirador where you have a nice view of River Mayo. There is such a nice, cool breeze along the river in any part of Moyobamba so it is very pleasant.
