Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This castle has breathtaking views of the East Sea & surrounding mountains.
I was shocked to learn that Maemiseong Fortress was built solely by one man. Incredible! Aside from taking drool-worthy insta pics, you can also eat delicious street food & relax with your friends & family. There is also a really popular spot where you can take a very instagrammable photo but you'll have to queue for it. As far as I know, there is no entrance fee. I would definitely also try the hotdogs from 바람의 핫도그. They're so good!

If you ask me, Maemi Castle is the one place they really have to go. On a clear day, Maemi Castle is fantastic. When I went, the line was long, but it was nice to see the sea while waiting. The beach in front of Maemi Castle is lined with peculiar stones, so be careful not to take any of them. Once inside the castle, a magnificent landscape unfolds, which is perfect for those who visit this place. What's more, this place is ideal for taking photos with family. The stone-built castle and the beautiful sea would make a magnificent backdrop. Looking at the pictures, memories of this place come to mind.

It is a sculpture made because of the heat from the typhoon cicadas, and it is a great place for individuals to make it alone. Great for walking around, great ocean view. It is 5-10 minutes away from the parking lot, and the viewer may be disappointed. It is a good place to stop by and see on the way by.

Maemiseong is the only fortress in Korea that was not built for the purpose of protecting the country. Privately built, it is the only fortress in Korea with a Western vibe which makes for some unique photo opportunities. Its location on the beach makes it even more picturesque. It looked like the fortress was undergoing some restoration/renovation when we visited but most of it was still accessible and without an admission fee.

The attraction exudes a bit of European vibe with the stone walls. However, it's only a structure with many people queuing up to take pictures. Ok place to stop by if you have extra time.
