Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unexpected gem! We have been in Yucatán for over a week, including Valladolid, Merida, Coba, Tulum Beach and Tulum City. This is by FAR the best collection of true artisan craftwork we have seen, and conveniently assembled from sources across Mexico.
Reasonable prices and superb quality. My wife and I bought our favorite items from the entire trip here!

Lovely shop selling Mexican crafts, owned and run by a very friendly lady called Sally. Wide ranging and colorful selection of items which made perfect mementoes of our trip. On the main street in Tulum old town. Just be aware she only takes pesos or USD, not cards. We would have spent more but we’d run out of cash on the last day of our trip!

Mixik is a terrific store -- the kind of place you hope you'll stumble upon when you're looking for that special gift or the take-home Mexican item of you dreams. The store carries an array of items from small to large in just about every price range. We took home a few terrific pieces from the carefully selected items here. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly -- they even packed up my ceramic purchase in cardboard and bubble wrap so that I could get it safely home. Trust me -- if you tire of the "souvenirs" you see in every stall, this is a great place to find something authentic and interesting. Check out Mixik -- you'll be happy you did.

We got great gifts here, but because it was the end of the trip and we were low on cash, we paid by credit card. The only other time we used the card was at the bank in town. Came home to a $275 fraudulent charge. Heed the warnings. Cash only at all businesses on the beach road - even if you have a choice.

Tulum is filled with many crappy souvenir shops with store owners trying to bargain their way with you on many items, half of which probably are made in a sweat factory. Therefore, finding Mixik is quite exciting. Authentic folk art items and a sign that prices are fixed. It may be a little pricier than the majority of the shops aforementioned however it's well worth it. Even at times, the prices are better. For example, a shirt that was almost identical in the crappy shop was quoted at 350 pesos was 220 pesos in Mixik and again, I'm near certain the Mixik shirt was the authentic one. Lots of fun Frida Kahlo and wrestling souvenirs too if that's your thing.

This shop has two locations one in town and one across from Zamas in the beach zone area. They have very unique Mexican folk art gifts. If you want to take something home that is one of a kind check this store out. Some items are a little pricey but most are reasonable.

This store is not to be missed. Beautiful items that are not the run of the mill tourist trap stuff. Prices vary depending on the items, but everything I saw was totally worth it. On top of awesome shopping, there is an adorable court yard out back to have a drink or food in. It became our afternoon watering hole pretty quickly.

2 locations in Tulum. The 1 in the pueblo and one on the Beach Road heading towards Ziggy's on the right. I really scored at the beach road store, I love Merida but never saw a store I liked as much at this with such excellent prices.

I wish I had come here first. The BEST shop I stopped in on my entire trip. Unique and whimsical pieces and the best place to find a gift to bring home to friends and family. VERY inexpensive, it is not the type of place where you will find cheesy shot glasses and t-shirts with Mexico scrolled across. Local artist work, the stuff you come to Mexico to buy and take home. Statement pieces, beaded art work, glass, painting, embroider cloths and art of all kinds.

Hi, can anyone suggest getting to here? We will be staying at the Luxury Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an which is about 25min north by car. We are not planning on renting a car but this is high on our list to visit.
Thank you in advance!

I would ask at one of the resorts on the property or call a cab which is what most people who don't have a car do to take you to Tulum.
