Beautiful Church and I attended 10 am Christmas Day Mass. Of course the Mass was Spanish so I just followed the people. Still I was happy. The Nativity Crib was surrounded by pots of Pointsetas. The only thing I didn't see was a font with holy water. I thought this was normal in all Catholic churches. It was a good 30 minute walk for me from my hotel near the Seafront.

Beautiful chapel. The only suggestion I would make is when it is so full and it is hot/humid, maybe open the windows to get the breeze off the Caribbean.

Sunday 8th of October and we visited this this delightful little Chapel. Back in March 2022 we visited here but it was shut, thankfully on this occasion it was open so we could go inside.

It is located along the beachfront near to the ferry terminal and jetty.

The most striking feature of the Chapel is the tall whitewashed entrance structure containing three bells. Worshipers and visitors walk under the arch along the small pathway to the arched glass and wooden entrance door.

Another noticeable feature is the domed section at the rear of the Chapel, topped with a small metal cross, it is more impressive inside.

Two rows of simple dark wooden benches form a tiled aisle that leads up to the altar at the back of the Chapel. The ceiling above the aisle is lined with wooden beams.

A large arched window at the back of the Chapel overlooks the palm trees outside and faces the sea. A sizeable crucifix hangs from the top of the window behind the simple altar table.

The altar stands underneath the impressive red bricked domed area of the Chapel.

Climbing plants were growing around the walls of the altar area and dangling from the domed ceiling.

Images of the Stations of the Cross were around the walls of the Chapel.

A few minutes here was a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets outside.

An easy to get to English Mass at 10 am on Sundays in Playa del Carmen. . Easy cab ride from the hotels in Playacar. This is a pretty little chapel in the center of the commercial strip, with a view of the ocean. Next to the Portal Maya. The priest is crotchety, railing against unmarried couples and lapsed Catholics, to the point of questioning young couples to see if they are married. Mass was nice otherwise.

Beautiful, but small, Catholic Church right on the beach in Playa del Carmen. Mass was in English. People were welcoming.

Mass on Sunday at 10. Adoration many times during the week. This is a gorgeous little chapel with a view to the Caribbean Sea next to the turistica bus station and Parque Fundadores. Get there early for a seat! Father Michael is always sure to sprinkle you with holy water and greet you. He is even available for confessions upon request. Love it here!

Beautiful little church near the ferry entrance. The back wall is a window that looks out over the water. Does not take a lot of time and cool to visit.

This small whitewashed Chapel is located on the seafront in Parque Fundadores, Playa del Carmen.

It's name translates as Chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

A large whitewashed arch stands in front of the Chapel and serves as a bell tower. Above the arch there are two bells these are topped with a single bell in an arched section at the top of the tower.

When we visited here the Chapel was closed, however, due to the glass panel in the main door, we were able to see inside.

Just inside the door we could see a small table with religious items as well as rosary beads for sale.

The aisle is formed by two columns of simple wooden pews, which lead up to altar at the rear of the Chapel.

The altar is a simple table, covered with a white cloth. It stands in front of a large clear glass arched window that stretches from floor to the ceiling. There are views across the Parque and seafront.

Hanging down, from the top of the top of the window, is a large crucifix.

We always make an effort to attend Mass while traveling. We've been to Playa several times and always went to the main church on 10th Ave, of which this chapel is kind of an annex. We went to the 12 noon service which was in Spanish. I call it a service, because unfortunately, it wasn't a Mass. I believe the celebrant was a deacon, not a priest, since he did not wear the proper vestments. But most significantly, there was no Consecration, which deacons are not permitted to perform. There were readings from scripture, many of the usual prayers at Mass, but it wasn't a Mass. I mention this to any observant Catholics who might want to attend a true Mass. We did receive the Eucharist. The chapel was lovely, and the people in attendance were obviously devout.
