We booked our tour as we disembarked from our cruise ship outside of the port. We discussed various options and elected to have a private tour of the island by a local tour guide in an air conditioned car. We were introduced to Oscar, our tour guide. If we could give him 10 starts we would. He was honest, informative, patient, and a gentle soul.

He took us all around the island, we had an amazing authentic Mexican lunch at La Choza per his recommendation and would highly recommend this restaurant. We saw a lot of the island and went on a great snorkeling trip and Oscar even joined us and snorkeled with us and took great care that we experienced the wildlife.

We would highly recommend this company and especially Oscar to anyone visiting Cozumel.

Stopped in Cozumel during our Carnival Valor Cruise. I booked this excursion prior on “Shore Excursioner. “ Booking our excursion via a private company saved us about $30 a ticket over going through Carnival.
Directions to meet our guide were easy enough. Out of the 3,500 people on our cruise we were the only ones too book this excursion, so we had a private one. It was awesome. Felipe was our guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. It seemed like everyone on the island knew who he was. It was a gorgeous day driving with the open air Jeep. Punta Sur was beautiful, snorkeling in the reef was very cool. Great fajita lunch. Special bonus of a tequila tasting tour.
I highly recommend this company and Felipe as a guide.

We arrived on Cozumel only to have another rental company we booked with unable to provide us the minivan they promised. We found CFE on the street and they were able to hook us up with two Jeeps and a tour guide for for 5 hours for the eight of us (2 adults and 6 teens).

Definitely had a great experience touring Cozumel with CFEs tour guide. Glad they were able to make our day on Cozumel fun. Price was $40/pp for about 5 hours of guide service.

Our family was excited to rent 2 jeeps while at port with Royal Caribbean. After signing the agreement with Cozumel Fun Excursions and paying, we were told that only 1 jeep was available due to a flat tire on the other. Very convenient timing. We were instead offered a different vehicle which was not at all the jeep experience that we had been looking forward to. The vehicles didn’t leave us stranded during our island drive but the jeep seatbelts were very rusted and did not work in the back.

As part of the price we negotiated entrance for our whole group to the Carlos and Charlie’s beach club which was a huge disappointment. Only allowed to sit in certain seats and they became extremely unfriendly when we did not place a food and drink order right away. So as a side note, I don’t recommend this beach club.

Overall, we felt scammed by the situation and would not recommend renting here because of the dishonesty.

Hello Luke, I'm very sorry to learn that your rental experience with us was not as expected to be. I apologize for what you consider as "very convenient timing", when it was just a flat tire. When this happened, I personally explained you the situation and offered a cancellation but you agreed in taking another vehicle to explore the island. In regards to the seat belts in the back or the Jeep, unfortunately, though it could seem like a long time ago, after the pandemic we've kept struggling in finding some spare parts for the Jeeps, but rest assured we are working hard to have them fully restored. On the other end, we really appreciate that you bring to our attention the service at Carlos' and Charlie's Beach Club and we'll address your concerns to the management right away. Sincerely yours, Moises Loeza

We were return customers due to price. We rented a Jeep that was well worn and had bald tires. The company expects the Jeeps to break down becuase they give you a number to call. We parked and went to a Tequila tour when we returned the Jeep would not start. We called and had to wait 30-45 minutes for them to come with a replacement. We asked for a discount due to the headache and not being able to have the Jeep as long as possible and they make no concessions. They stated that is why we give you the phone number! Price was not even worth it for Jeep we got, none of the gages work and it was old. Go somewhere else and rent a newer Jeep from a place with better customer service. Their Jeeps are ancient and break down!!

Dear Visitor, We are very sorry to learn about your bad experience during your rental with us. When we rent our vehicles, we provide our Emergency Contact Information in the event of an accident or a breakdown, just like any other Car Rental all over the world, not because we hope or know that our vehicles will break down. Nevertheless, I must apologize and admit the lack of criteria and poor management showed by our Staff, as the way they handled the situation was far from being ideal. Please contact us directly to: mloeza@cozumelfunexcursions.com and I personally will take care of you with a compensation. Sincerely yours, Moises Loeza

Moises was very professional and helpful. The personal care he provided was excellent. The car was in fantastic shape and we had no problems. Moises helped us out of a big bind when another car rental firm already had rented out all of their cars before we arrived. Thank you Moises!

The absolute worst experience/paid excursion I have done. From the start we were scammed. We were overcharged for everything. We were promised two cars, but had to squeeze 6 in one Jeep(not including the driver). We were promised to go to visit ruins, but while on the tour our guide lied and said they were closed due to COVID which they weren’t. We were promised to go snorkeling in the “second best snorkeling in the world” but then we never even got to snorkel... Finally, we were told that we’d be going to a nice beach club with food included. We got to the location and it was the worst excuse for a beach club ever with dirty/rocky water that was no deeper than stomach level. The food was terrible and someone there tried to steal our stuff even when we were right there. All lies. Don’t believe any good reviews here, most likely fake. Do not waste your money or time... ridiculous

Our family visited Conzumel on March 29,2018. We went on a cruise and our time was limited. I wish we had more time to explore the island. All the excursions that are sold on the cruises do not take place in the actual island of Conzumel. They take place across the ocean in the Yucatna pennisula of Cacun. They are expensive and you don't have the time to do anything. For example I have been in Xcaret twice with my husband no kids. This is a 300 acres Natural park that deserves your full attention. We I wanted to take our two son's, but the 8 hours excursion is not worth the price. It will take 1 hours boat ride to Playa del Carmen. Another hours on a bus to the actual park. Then another hour to enter the park, put on your bracelets and the speech from the tour guide. Then you have limited time to spend having fun. Please don't forget that the food is not included in the price. Everything is wonderful, but very packed and in a rush. This is a place worth going the entire day from 8am to 9pm. We decided to rent a Jeep instead. We had help from a wonderful person named Monkey, yes that was his name. Wonderful experience. The experience traveling the island in the jeep, eating when ever we wanted, stopping where ever we wanted, taking pictures and traveling inside the actual city was a wonderful experience for all of us. Don't ever be afraid to explore and be free. My sons are 18 and 13 and they had a blast. There are actually nice ruins that can be explore in the island. Cheaper on your own. The snorkling is out of this world. The food and the drinking is expectacular. There is a Fat Tuesday right at the end f the dock when you get off the ship. We don't drink, but if drinking is your thing, enjoy the tequila. There is a tequila farm in the actual island. You can sample many types of tequila and see how it is made. Every person we ment along the way (Mexicanos) were super nice and treated us with respect. Get to know the world around you and you will see it is a brighter place then you might think. There are restaurants, shops, diving boats, and snorkling tours within walking distance from the ship. Go on your own is will be cheaper than paying the price in the cruise. There are many other places we were not able to go because of time restrictions, but we will go back and explore more of the island of Conzumel and all its expledor. Great experience and family fun.

We had signed up for the "Jeep and Beach Adventure" from Cozumel Fun Excursions. The directions clearly stated we would be going snorkeling, as well as touring the island by Jeep. We started about 45 minutes later than the stated time and found the Jeeps were junk: no turn signals, no seat belts, dirty interior, and seats that required assistance every time we got out somewhere. We did visit interesting sights, but never went snorkeling, and only spent a short time on the beach. Overrated and overpriced for our experience.

I chose “Cozumel Fun Excursions” and booked the dune buggy/Punta Sur package. This was the last stop on our cruise. We were a group of 13 family members ranging in age from 12 to 73. Being that we had been to Cozumel a few times before, I wanted to book an excursion that would be something a little different. The excursion was to include our choice of either dune buggies or Jeeps, entrance to Punta Sur Park with a tour of the lighthouse and surrounding wet lands, stop at some small ruins, a beach break, lunch and a stop for tequila tasting. The company is located in front of a hotel right outside the port. We met our guide, Ruben, who explained what the tour included and gave us a tentative schedule for the day. However, our group was very “toured out”, and we asked if we could just go straight to the beach for the day and cut out stops and sights. Ruben was happy to oblige and said we could do whatever we wanted over the next 5.5 hours. He led us across the street to a parking area where we could choose our vehicles. We picked two dune buggies and a Jeep (for those who wanted more protection from the sun). We had started our tour a bit later (9:30 am), so I think most of the vehicles were already out on other tours. We were left with some very rusty dune buggies that had seen better days. The Jeep wasn’t much better. But this only made the experience that much more memorable!! (In hindsight, I think had we gotten there earlier, we could have picked some better vehicles because at the end of the day, the lot had filled up with some much better choices.) After some quick tips on how to drive the dune buggies (they are all manual), we set off through the streets of Cozumel. Ruben and the other guide (I did not catch his name) led the way in a VW Bug. The drive to the beach took about 45 minutes and involved going down a long road with no passing lanes and a very fast speed limit. It was quite an experience driving in dune buggies at that speed with other vehicles passing. Kind of crazy!!! We arrived at Punta Sur and Ruben led us right past all the sights we had wanted to skip, winding our way down a sandy road to the beach. The beach was absolutely beautiful with clear blue water and soft white sand. There was a small outdoor bar/restaurant, showers and a clean bathroom, plenty of chairs and tables and umbrellas. We were there very early (before 11am) and had the beach almost completely to ourselves. Ruben helped outfit everyone into snorkel gear and led the group out for a swim. Not a snorkeler myself, I stayed back at the beach and enjoyed relaxing in the water. It was the perfect temperature. My family returned to the beach after about 45 minutes and reported seeing beautiful fish, an enormous starfish, and huge conches. They had worked up an appetite and were ready for lunch. We were served our choice of either chicken or beef fajitas, rice and beans, right there at the beach restaurant seated at long tables. Everything tasted wonderful. Afterward, we spent the rest of the day swimming, finding seashells, napping under the umbrellas and just generally enjoying the beautiful area. The servers at the bar were very friendly and kept everyone “hydrated” (drinks were not included with lunch and no ice chests are allowed). Much later in the afternoon, the other tour groups began to arrive. We were so glad we had decided to spend the whole day at the beach rather than touring!!! Ruben reminded us when it was time to head back. We had an hour drive ahead and wanted to be back in port a bit early. We took the drive back along the beach, which was absolutely beautiful. At one point we passed through a brief downpour and were completely drenched in the dune buggies (no windshield wipers!!). It was so funny, we couldn’t stop laughing at our situation. The rain didn’t last long and Ruben pulled over and dried the windshields and we were off again. We drove through downtown Cozumel during “rush hour” which was interesting in and of itself. We arrived back at the parking lot with plenty of time to spare and said our goodbyes to Ruben and the other guide. This was one my family’s favorite excursions. It was simple and fun and definitely memorable. I highly recommend “Cozumel Fun Excursions”. The guys did a great job taking care of our group all day long. We had a fantastic time and will always remember our day in Cozumel.
