Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was the perfect time to visit the plaza as the day was sunny with blue skies and some slight breeze. The plaza was filled with lots of people just hanging out, probably resting, vendors around the plaza and travelers enjoying the place. It was a little crowded because it was during the holidays and everyone wanted to take pictures of the creative design of the poinsettias. Whoever design this, did an awesome job. A nice place to see over the weekend .

The plaza is in the Zocolo. A great place for people watching as well as shopping and eating around the plaza. Plenty of places to just sit and relax. I had to wait a long time for fellow shoppers and for the tour bus and it wasn't an issue at all.

I have traveled Mexico for nearly 8 years and have seen 22 of the 32 states. I feel at home here. However, this was the first time I saw someone being severely beaten up. A man was attacked by two other men until he was nearly unconscious and bleeding and then unceremoniously thrown in the back of a pickup. He had attempted to steal a watch from a tourist. Justice was quick but gruesome. I never felt comfortable around the plaza borda after seeing this. Flat spaces are at a premium in hilly Taxco so the plaza itself is small by comparison so it is packed with vendors, tourists, cars, pedestrians, etc. Not a calm place to be.

Although we've been here many times, this last visit we spent more time exploring all the shops and museums and cafes and streets. We will be back again!

This is on the Zocolo of Taxco, and is the house where the important Señor Borda lived when he developed the mines of Taco and became the most wealthy man in Mexico.

A pleasant, shady plaza in front of the cathedral, filled with trees, people chatting and playing, little kids with their mothers, birds. A great place to relax before or after exploring the winding paths of the market place with all the fruits and vegetables and housewares.

Disappointed with number of cheap souvenir sales people and the "come in" calls of shop owners, did not find this square "intimate and charming".

You can see lots of very expensive silver items here but it is not so great. If you want to see royal jewelry you will enjoy your visit. They do give complimentary drinks that will kick you off your feet, however. The salff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Lots of silver stores. But that is what Taxco is all about. Some nice restaurants. Nice area to people watch.
