Just a note for folks - we arrived in Mexico City on Monday January 17th, had planned to visit the Museum (which is awesome) on Thursday. Found out that they closed on Wednesday (January 19, 2022) for an indefinite amount of time. For the record the Templo Mayor is closed too. The pyramids are still open bu the inside areas are closed.

What an amazing museum. You will need at least 6 hours to view everything. I did 3 hours because I was tired, but I did enjoyed this museum. Interesting to know more about the history of Mexico. This is one place travelers need to visit when in Mexico City.

One of the most complex and complete museums I’ve been to. Prices are very affordable. Free for children and students/teachers with proper identification.

So many exhibits and rooms. You will need from half to a whole day to appreciate everything in there. I highly recommend going early to avoid big crowds. Make sure you follow protocols, security is serious about them. Avoid being kicked out.

I would highly recommend!

My husband and I both studied anthropology in college, so we love this stuff. The history of American civilization began in MX and the artifacts in the museum are really beautiful and interesting. We've been to the museum twice and will keep returning because there is so much to absorb. We have walked through on our own and we've had a guided tour. On our own, we covered more ground, but understood far less. With the tour, we had to skip most of the exhibits, but we gained a lot more insight into the significance and context for the artifacts we were seeing. When you learn about the history, symbols and cultures of MX, you start to see it everywhere and it really helps to understand contemporary Mexican culture. I can't recommend it enough.

We visited on our first day of a longer Mexico Trip to gain a better understanding of historical context and the various cultures that are / were present in Mexico. Great choice! Abundant information for novices and culture Pros's. We were originally planning on staying for an hour or so and ended up calling it quits after 4h ... What we learned there acoompanied us during our entire trip - was so worth the time.

This museum is so good that I w ill have to return to take in more of the amazing history. It is comprehensive, and as many Mexican museums, very well organized. We started at the beginning of prehistoric Mexico and made it through the main historical milestones, but ran out of gas before studying the various regions. It is an affordable museum given the fact that you can spend 2-3 hours. Loved it and will go back.

This museum is rich! You need at least 4 hours to explore its first floor. If you have less time, the most viewed halls are Mayans and Teotihuacan halls, then, check out the west and north ones.

This felt like I went back in time! It was well situated and I felt the art was phenomenal. Our guide allowed us to wander alone to really get the experience.

What a place to spend a day.. if you like history. We waited in line to get in (holiday) and it was worth it. Hundreds of thousands of artifacts from thousands of years of human history.
