The funicular up doesn’t take very long. Then there’s a viewpoint if the Guanajuato city and surrounding hills. Great way to observe the various forms of habitation. The colourfully painted houses really stand out, plus the university. We even had a drink up there before...More

A must when in town. Only 50 pesos to take the short but steep funicular up the hill to this viewpoint. The top is easily identifiable by the huge statue of the man with the torch. The views over the town are the best. Guanajuato...More

If you enjoyed the movie, Coco, you will love this view from high on a hill, of the city of Guanajuato. The shapes of the buildings, the churches, the lively colors...all portrayed in the animated movie.

Go up with the funicular go down walking. Some nice shops. Get there for the sunset arrives about 40 minutes before it starts to see the city in a golden light

Walk the steps for good exercise or take the cable car. Pipila is a must see. View is the best in the city.

This must be one of the ugliest statues in Mexico, and it is vast. However the view from the panorama over the city of Guanajuato is spectacular, so don't miss that. Just try not to look behind you at the monument.

I really don't know where it starts because we were given tickets by our B&B host (we stayed at Casa Zuniga) to ride the funicular. See my reviews on Casa Zuniga which is located on top of the hill with a beautiful view... More
