Has some impressive murals on both floors but otherwise is a bit of a mish mash of Independence story displays and unrelated artwork to fill up the available exhibition gallery spaces.

This building, an old grain store finished just before the fight for Independence, is very much part of Mexican history. If interested you can read all about the history at that time yourself. In the 19th and early 20th century it was a prison, but...More

Great paintings on the walls going up the stairs highlighting Hidalgo and other elements of the Mexican revolution. We stayed for about 45 minutes and it was well worth it.

They gave us English versions of the displays so we could understand the history of each collection. Enjoyed the murals, displays and cultural elements. Very interesting and worth every minute.

Alhóndiga de Granaditas, the edification where the heads of four important independence's characters were hooked. Now the Regional Museum of Guanajuato, is the most representative icon of the brith of the Independence of Mexico. It preserves and promotes the local history.
