It was a pretty church but not open. The square had some interesting statues including one of Don Quixote (one of three around town) and some others as well as a very attractive colorful street behind.Worthy of a visit.

This church is very important to Guanajuato it is a must visit for people that are interested in the history of the town and area.

All churches in colonial cities of Mexico are impressive, but this one is particularly beautiful form outside, and easily recognisable by its red colour. Having just returned from Assisi in Italy, it was a particular pleasure to visit.

Beautiful inside and outside. Such rich history of church’s in Guanajuato. This is recognizable from all of Guanajuato. Take your time looking at the art inside

It is an old edifice, it needs repairs but it's a must see, authentic of the 18TH century architecture.

I am not a religious person, but the churches throughout this fabulous town are worth stopping to see whether inside or out. San Francisco is stately, with its 2 bell towers and gorgeous interior facade similar to the San Diego church close to the jardin....More
