I had to write a negative review and I hate doing that as even when traveling for business, I like to see the local places and eat and drink local as well. It is with great pleasure that I write positive reviews (I try to write far more positive than negative) and this one is easy as it was wonderful!! We visited as a shore excursion off of a cruise ship. The tequila was very good and the habanera salsa picante had a killer kick to it! The taco restaurant was also excellent. If you get a chance to go, do it! I liked the Anejo and of course the killer salsa picante!!

We took a tour of Hacienda Dona Engracia while on a excursion from a Holland America cruise. It was a lot more fun and informative than I imagined! The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. After the tour of the facility and an explanation of the distilling process, we were treated to the "tasting room" where we sampled 6 different flavors of tequila. All were very good, and as the guide said, "the best one is the one you like best!" Lunch was offered (not included on the price of the excursion) at a minimal cost and was well worth it! Margaritas were available and served in cute little pottery mugs that are yours to keep as a souvenir. A great tour and a fun experience!

My family and I took a Mexican Riveria Cruise on the Beautiful Norwegian Bliss on October 6th, 2019. While we were in Puerto Vallarta, we decided to sign up the Mexcian Fiesta and Lunch which consisted of visting the highlights of Puerto Vallarta and also visting the Dona Engracia Tequila Factory. Our tour guide, Mario, made the excursion. He was funny, extremely knowledgeable, and made you feel like family. We loved the process of tequila making and we even brought home a few bottles. Lunch was authentic and fantasic and the entertainment with the Mexican Dancers and Mexican Cowboys was great. My family and I had a fantastic time and highly recommend this excursion.

We went there as part of an excursion from a cruise ship. Enjoyed learning how tequila is made and how it was made in the past. Tasting the different types of tequila was fun and we were happy with our purchase. Afterwards we had a good lunch before heading back to the ship.

Our excursion in Puerto Vallarta from our cruise ship was to this hacienda. We enjoyed the explanations about growing blue agave and how tequila is made from it. In the tasting room they displayed the various types of tequila produced and coached everyone on how to savour the flavour. Although neither I or my husband are drinkers we felt that we should taste a little of the tequila. I passed on a couple of the varieties but would have enjoyed more of the almond flavoured one - it went down very smoothly with an amazing almond aftertaste. We also had nachos with the house made hot sauce (bought a bottle of that for our son-in-law who loves spicy food). Then we browsed the gift shop before heading outdoors for a wonderful buffet lunch which included a beverage, salad, fresh fruit, tortillas, beans, rice, chicken and salsa. While eating we were entertained by dancers, rope twirlers, musicians and a dancing horse. They also had a tequila drinking challenge and a tortilla making contest with prizes. Vendors were also in the garden area selling local wares. We thoroughly enjoyed the event and would highly recommend a visit to Hacienda Dona Engracia.
