Great place for bird life and walks along the sand-spit. The hill walks probably a bit tricky in winter but great in the dry weather. Couldrey House is open for visitors 1pm - 4pm. $5 per head. There is a boat launching ramp, plenty of...More

Great place to relax with peaceful walks and hike track. Walking around the flat areas of the park and beach is fairly easy and relaxing. The hike is a little tougher especially at the start of the tracks but worth the view when you reach...More

Great place for a walk or hike. We took the path to the top of the hill. Fantastic views. Quite steep though!

Nice place for a picnic, a dip in the sea as well as a kayak ride with the tidal flow. For kayaking check the tide times.

When staying (from the UK) with daughter and family in Auckland, we nearly always come to Wenderholm. Why?- there's a great beach, beautiful bay, imposing cliffs, rocks, shells, extensive grassy areas, toilets, changing rooms, barbecues, etc. And when we've been there, sunshine!
