Great place for a walk or hike. We took the path to the top of the hill. Fantastic views. Quite steep though!

As the first Regional Park in New Zealand open to visitors, Wenderholm, (Winter Home) is a real treasure. Rarely can you find such a rich abundance of natural environmental pleasures for the whole family. It is well signposted from the main road out of Orewa and is comfortably accessible from Auckland. Wenderholm offers estuary and ocean-side walks and beach, a... More

Stopped by here on an overcast day midweek, easy to park & find the trails to explore. Highly recommend this for all ages as the routes are very accessible with man made steps / stairs in place, so don't need excessive walking boots or gear. Some fantastic views of the bay at the top of the trails.

Nice place for a picnic, a dip in the sea as well as a kayak ride with the tidal flow. For kayaking check the tide times.

When staying (from the UK) with daughter and family in Auckland, we nearly always come to Wenderholm. Why?- there's a great beach, beautiful bay, imposing cliffs, rocks, shells, extensive grassy areas, toilets, changing rooms, barbecues, etc. And when we've been there, sunshine!

My husband and I recently went here for an overnight camping trip. When we arrived we were happy to see there were 2 camping paddocks at the Schiscka campground. One was taken over by the scouts, we opted for the other one with only a handful of vehicles. After setting up the tent we walked to Couldrey House for a... More

Been camping at the campground here a few times with our toddler. Nice estuary great for paddle boarding and kayaking. (This is where public river kayaking trips leave from on incoming tide). Plants around campsite still establishing with some areas better established providing better barrier to weather. Nice new toilet block and connected to town water supply. Would be good... More
