I went to Waiwera 15 years ago and enjoyed the pools. We thought this time would be good for a family outing however we found the entry fee very expensive for what was on offer and on top of that there is a credit card surcharge (!?). The pools desperately need a paint there was algae growing on the walkways... More

This is the second time I've been to the Waiwera pools, however today was quite busy. We were still able to relax in the hot pools despite sharing it with lots of people. They have a good range of pool temperatures and they have 2 adult only pools which is nice. However, overall the place is well worn and could... More

I had been going to Infinity spa every couple of months for years and always was treated well and highly pampered. They had some of the best massage therapists around. About a year or a little longer ago I started noticing changes. The spa pool and sauna was no longer a part of the massage package and the quality of... More

Its been a few years since I was last at Waiwera and boy have things gone downhill. The facilities are covered in rust (and rust stains), the "lazy river" type attraction was limited to 4 available inner tubes for guests to utilise, the pools are in need of some significant paint, the slides have been reduced to 2 slides which... 2nd day in New Zealand backpacking & a weather bomb hits as were on the way north. Came across this on the way, stopped by & had great fun at the naturally heated thermal pools. Temperatures in the pools were fantastic ranging from 30 to 48 in the lava pool!! Best thing to do when coming across poor weather &... More

Decided to have a day off and drive up to Orewa Beach and Waiwera where I spent the afternoon and evening at the Waiwera Hot Pools. I have spent the best part of 30 years watching this place change and develop and it’s been a worthwhile journey coming back to see what else has happened here. There is music playing,... More

It is a combination of Thermal Pool and Spa, but also a picnic spot, where the whole family, swimming or not, can enjoy this place by gathering together. Approx. 42 kms north of Auckland, easy destination through motorway and free parking on site. At certain days discounted price after 7pm, ticket includes the use of the outdoor pools, movie pool,... The slides held the attention of the kids for a couple of hours but the pools didn't. The place needs more upkeep as it is looking a bit tired. The café had a good selection and reasonable prices. Good areas to set up your own picnic.

We visited the Resort on our way back to Auckland following a day out to Matakana and Snells Beach. We had pre-purchased our tickets (at a very reduced price) and we found the Resort very quiet mid week .. we enjoyed the use of all but the very hottest pools and we reallt did enjoy the peace and quiet about...
