Everything was brilliant on this tour.

Paulo's communication before the tour was great, allowing us to easily organise the tour around the weather.

The tour it's self was very interesting, and Paulo's knowledge of Etna was very extensive. His English was also very good, which made everything easier.

The lunch at the end, traditionally Sicilian, was also delicious.

Very good value for money and an all round perfect half day - Thank you.

We went for a hike together with guide Paolo on the Etna, he arrived at our B&B at 8:15, the earlier the better to see the Etna. We were lucky that we had Paolo as a 'private' guide as there were no other persons joining. Paolo was very kind and has a very large knowledge about the vulcano. He talks in a very passionate and interesting way, he really wants you to understand the explanation. We could ask him anything about the Etna or Sicily in general, as well as, some local tips. We first visited a Volcano grotto and thereafter we started the hike. We hiked at our pace and stopped a few times to catch the nice views. Paolo adapts the hike according to the group. After the hike, he took us to a local bar and let us taste the typical arancini (included in the price). Overall, we had a very nice experience and we would definitly recommend to try Sicily Sensations.

We arranged to meet our guide Paolo at 0830 in Riposto and reached our first stop at ca 1300m and got a thorough explaination and info to the process of the making of the lava caves. The main hike followed an old donkeytrail up to ca 2500m with frequent stops and quality talks on the whole Etna history leading up to present time. The Bove bowl was next and you truly feel the immensity of the place. Paolo took us on a slightly higher trail on the way back with a fantastic half-running, half hopping descent on silica gravel all the way down to the car. Followed by a lovely meal and tons of water, we were returned to our accommodation. We all felt Paolo was a part of our family and will give him a 10/10. SUPER GUIDE!!! Thx Paolo😃

There are only positive things I can say about this experience. Paolo is a highly skilled tour guide who not only gave a detailed insight on the Etna and its surroundings but also took us on an unforgettable journey to witness the breathtaking sight of the Valle del Bove @ 2000m of altitude.
We then visited a lava cave which was also very impressive!
A delicious typical Sicilian lunch was also included with fresh bread and local cold cuts and cheese. We ended the tour with a visit to the mesmerizing Gole dell’ Alcantara.
We truly recommend this tour!
Thanks a lot Paolo!

We went on a half day guided tour of Etna with Paolo. It was an absolutley astonishing experience to reach a point 2,000m high shrouded in cloud which cleared in an instant to reveal the Valle del Bove and summit of the volcano.
As well as a very able and considerate guide Paolo was a mine of information on Etna, it's history and environment.
He not only clearly communicated this information, what was also clear was his love of and joy in Etna and it's environment which was infectious.
We highly recommend a tour of Etna.
Thank you Paolo.

We (2 Germans, 54 & 56 yrs.) booked a full day Etna tour with Paolo in early March 2019. The Etna was still emitting toxic gases after the last eruption in December and so It was not possible to climb up higher than about 2.200 meters. Nevertheless, Paolo led us to spots of amazing beauty and spectacular scenery: the colossal lava fields of the "valle del bove", an icicled lava grotto, the mystical forest of endemic birchs (Betula aetnensis), the black (lava) & white (snow) mosaic of the Etna north slope,... What, however, made the whole trip even more unforgettable was Paolo's infectious enthusiasm for the beauty of the mountain paired with his deep knowledge of its geology, biology and history. We learned a lot from him, not only about the Etna but also about Sicily in general. And, at the same time, we had so much fun together and were laughing a lot due to his humorous and charming nature. It was a very intense and most enjoyable day. Unforgettable! Thanks a lot, Paolo!...(Side note: A special picnic at a very particular place was also included as well as the transfer from and to our B&B.)

First of all: if you still think about whether or not to book the tour - just do it, it's great!
Our guide was Paolo and he told us a lot of interesting things about the Etna. Besides, he was very nice and fun to chat with! The picnic area was unique and the food was delicious and definitely enough even for very hungry people like us ;)
Overall the tour was even better than expected and perfectly adapted to our needs.

We choose to book our trip up Mount Etna with Sicily Sensations as the reviews were extremely positive and we were delighted with our choice. We had the most fantastic day with Paulo and despite loving everything Sicily had to offer this was the absolute highlight of our trip. Paulo judged the itinery of the expedition perfectly and was able to cater for our group of 6 including our youngest who was 4 (nearly 5). I don't want to spoil any surprises for anyone else considering booking through Sicily Sensations but parts of the trip were genuinely breathtaking and even though I have taken over a month to write this review, I still can't stop looking at the photos and wishing that we were back on Etna. This trip was the absolute highlight of our already fantastic holiday and we genuinely felt like we made a friend in Paulo. If you are considering visiting Etna, I would highly recommend Sicily Sensations as the way to go. Thank you to Paulo and Carlo and keep up the work!!
