Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Justifiably famous (level) walking between Arthog and Dolgellau in great scenery. Good eats en route at George III.

Walking, or cycling, the Mawddach Trail (the old railway line from Dolgellau to Barmouth) is the best way to see the magnificent estuary area that is the Mawddach Valley. It is an excellent area, just as nature intended, with stunning mountain scenery. Well worth seeking out if you are in the area.

The Mawddach Valley is a stunning piece of countryside and, possibly, the best way to experience it is to walk, or cycle, along the Mawddach Trail which runs from Dolgellau to Barmouth. Every step along the trail reveals the beauty, and quiet, of the remarkable scenery. Well worth discovering if you are in the area.

Mawddach Valley at Arthog Bog is an excellent natural estuary area.
Perfect for loosing yourself with mother nature and getting away from it all.
Lots of free parking and walking trails along the water.

The bog itself is a small wetland reserve with marvellous wildlife, birds, rare flowers, grass snakes, butterflies, dragonflies, etc. No fees are necessary, just common sense and knowledge of the Highway Code

Being disabled I'm unable to walk on the woodland trails, through the bog, but can highly recommend the Mawddach cycle/walking trail that runs from Dolgellau's Marion car park, near the bog, to the coast in Fairbourne, on which I'm able to ride my motor assisted trike.
The trail is essentially flat, has a fairly even surface and for most of its length is at least 3 metres wide, and as such it is suitable for walkers, cyclists and wheelchair users.

This is a very scenic walk or cycle from Fairbourne to Dolgellau running along the estuary. We went to Y Sospan cafe in Dolgellau for our lunch, before returning to Fairbourne.

We enjoyed walking around this RSPB reserve. The path was good and mainly tarmac. There were a number of horses grazing.

Started at Morfa Mawddach walking the railway back towards Dolgellau. Took a footpath to the right which led us to the Estuary. All I can say is wonderful.
