My husband and I spent a week at Taino Beach, and visited Garden of the Groves as one of four stops on an island tour excursion. We only had an hour, which included a guided tour with Antonia. This was no where enough time, and...More
We took the tour, which was very budget-friendly. This is a wonderful garden. All six senses are stimulated simultaneously which feels almost like an orgasm. Unfortunately at one point our son Bayden fell into a pond and nobody reacted. I will miss him, however he...More
We almost didn't take the tour once we saw the price of $17 per person, but we are very glad we did. We had a personal tour guide that was very informative and answered all our questions. It was there that we learned how Freeport...More
A great way to spend the afternoon. We walked the gardens and labyrinth enjoyed the sights and sounds. Bought a few hats and ate lunch at the lakeside restaraunt by the waterfall. Only thing I’d change is February is not the most colorful time as...More
this park does not take more than 2 hours! But trees and shrubs that one doesn't normally see on the island are all here! One can get lost walking around all the paths! Shady, sunny and a delightful surprise around every corner
We were here as part of a combination tour offered by our hotel. We had a tour guide at the Garden who was very pleasant and explained everything through the short walk. The plants and trees were very nice. The little waterfall was beautiful. There...More
Of all our off-resort excursions, the Garden of the Groves was our favourite. We took a cab (~$15 each way) and paid admission (~$15). This was cheaper than the organized tours, and we got to have a leisurely visit. We were there for about 90minutes,...More

Our taxi charged us per person. I believe it was $8. After you walk off the ship, you go through a bunch of shops. There's a big sign at the end if the shops on your left that says taxi. It's all efficiently run. Flat rate, no haggling. They do try to group people together into the taxi. The drive from the port to the garden was about 15 minutes. Really nice drive, almost no traffic, country roads. Our taxi driver actually asked us if we wanted him to come back and get us. He also gave us his card and told the garden employee to let us use their phone to call him if we were done earlier. We arranged for pickup for 90 minutes later. He was there promptly, and gave us a deal on the return trip. Taxi service on the island was super easy and affordable. I had no worries about missing our ship. We had plenty of time to go to Port Lucaya by taxi for a few hours and then back to the ship. We paid for the return trip when we got out at Port Lucaya and our second taxi back to the ship was free. Taxis are prompt and waiting at the taxi stands. So easy to use!
